Watching Rocky Horror for the 1st time
by rebel8 inand it's weird.. it's one of those things i was afraid to do post-dubbery because it was supposedly evil.
once i got over that, i kind of forgot to see it.. evil it's not.
lol .

first saw rocky with my gay brother,
in austin texas in the late 70s....
(since then, i have seen it where the
audience was superb in the live performance
and been in the seats with truly, pathetically
clueless wannabes who heaved loaves of bread
during the "toast" ... seen it about 12 times
so i am a fan, but not truly a fanatic)i didnt know it then, but that first time
was when my "queerness" was solidified....
(ask your LGBT friends what being
queer is all about... no, i am not gay)i had never imagined i would find a man
in drag to be THE.HOTTEST.THING.EVAR!tim curry absolutely OWNED that part...
he will be my fairy dragqueen for all time! -

Those of us who left the WT for less than noble reasons
by Aussie Oz insometimes i feel like a second class apostate...not that anyone has ever said anything to make me feel that way, i just do, you know what i mean?.
i left the jws because i just couldn't fight my flesh anymore.
the battle inside was going to kill me literally.

my reason for drinking the k00l-aid was the same
as my reason for leaving... i needed to do what i
believed to be best for my child/childrenat the outset, having buried a son and a brother
within a single calendar year, i WANTED what they
were selling.... a paradise to welcome back my lost
and loved....at the end of the deception, i needed to be the
openly accepting and loving parent my then 15
YO transgender son needed me to bepurely selfish reasons to which some will ascribe character..
i did what i did for my own sake... i could not have lived with myself otherwise

did you wear your poppy with pride?
by highdose ineven though i've been out for three years now this year was the first time i paid attention to the royal british legion and its poppy appeal.
rather than now dissmissing it as glorifing murderers and war.
i now view it as a brilliant cause that rasies money for wounded service men and women and their widows and children.. i wore my poppy with pride and will now do so each year..

no source for poppies in this backwater...
but my facebook status declared: i served.... and have never regretted having been a soldier

stopping in quickly to update re: the progress
my transgender son is making in his journey...this month he finally cleared all the requirements
to begin hormone replacement therapy and now
has the means to stop the feminization of his body
and begin masculinization... he has waited nearly
3 years for this and endured myriad circumstances
that would have brought me to my knees, and as
his mother, believe me, those were incredilbly difficult
circumstances to have borne witness toa niggling sadness remains for me, somewhere deep
in the heart under which he grew, brought forward
in the week before his victory, when he brought out
his guitar to "sing you a goodbye" ... as his voice and
his features will change as he begins his "second adolescence"he has always been my child and forever more he is my son

Is Hard Work Hard on You?
by compound complex ingood morning, friends:.
wishing you all well today.. many of us gave up college and a possible career in the field of our dreams.
i have no regrets turning my inordinate childhood obsession with cleanliness into interior and exterior maintenance: janitorial and gardening.

believe it or not, at 55, i am in a program for massage therapy
(i need the license to be a touch practitioner in my state) and
we do yoga and other body awareness postures and exercises
to limber the joints... so maybe try something like that for
increased circulation and flexiblity in your joints and muscles...plus, as i am writing a paper for class on the topic of the
benefits of massage therapy... see if there is a training
facility near you and take advantage of their student clinics
to see if massage could help relieve your pain ...soak in an epsom salt bath, as it draws toxins that can lead
to muscle stiffness and soreness....inflammation of arthitis can be ameliorated by diet and
supplements, as well as topical use of anti-inflammatory
essential oils....stretch it out mate! i SO hear where you are coming from....

with a 100% rating on ebay, having shipped crystal stemware and china,
i concur wholeheartedly with the idea of double boxing and ample wrapping
of EACH INDIVIDUAL item, and cushioning within the box with the items,
and around said box when placed in a second larger box... and mark it
fragile on all six box faces, incl top and bottom.... and insure! -

it wasn't a feeling of rebellion; it was the feeling of love and care i desired.

congratulations for accepting yourself and living your authentic life
orientation, in any of its manifestations is not a lifestyle...
in other words not a choice... but coming to terms with and
honestly living your reality is a choice... and i applaud yours! -

Snakes = Married
by SnakesInTheTower init has been over a month and a half since i have even been on the board, and that really only to ask about gps units (got a tom-tom) and mention the new job.
way too busy with life - post jw now 4 years.. of course, the new job has benefits, health insurance, etc.
(including unlimited use of the company car for personal use and the company pays for the unlimited gas for about a $25/week out of my check -- huge benefit) and this has enabled toni and i to finally after a two year engagement, to get married.
