OK HL, gotcha! That makes sense. I can understand how a JW could come to that conclusion. They are already feeling such guilt by their brotheran, they feel they do not have a chance so better to try and off themselves now and possibly have another chance in the New World. Really sick, isn't it?

Sorry guys, I am still stuck on this one. So, what are they teaching about Paradise earth? Is it really paradise or is it going to be one eternal life test of faith? God, it makes FOREVER really seem like a long, long time.......

Frankly, if I die and am resurrected to have to live the JW lifestyle all over again - I AM GONNA BE REALLY PISSED OFF!

Are you joking about committing suicide as a way to live forever? I thought I was taught that it was wrong and if you did that, you would not see the new world. When did they change all of this? So, it is now ok to kill yourself?

OH for God's sake!!! This is getting more and more weird......

I thought we were taught that the 1000 year rein of Christ was God's rest day - to give humanity an era of peace for all their toil on earth. So, what really is this 'paradise" earth you all were so lovingly and eagerly looking forward to? Sounds like a continuation of the same - think about it - your dearly departed spouse is risen from the dead, just so you can see them killed again by the rath of God because they refuse to bow at his feet or they (gasp!) eat an apple? Sounds like paradsie to me!!!!

When DOES the fear of GOD Jehovah EVER end with this fricking wacko cult? Ahhh, yes, that loving God....

Jesus H. Christ...... so, what happens if they reject it after Armmegeddon? Are they immediately struck down by a bolt of lightening? Are they given any second chances? So, death and destruction are going to continue well into the new system? Is possible corruption of the new systen going to happen by all these wackos getting a "second chance"?

I mean, I have heard alot of crazy things from the witnesses but for some strange reason, for me, this one takes the cake. I really don't remember being taught this prior to 1975 (when I left for good).

I, too, think my mom wants me to die in this sick sort of way.... you are really right, this is really insane. Beyond insane, I am speechless.

I have been out a long, long time. 3 rd generation. My younger brother died a few months ago, He was 40 years old and had left the "truth" as a teenager. He was living a not so pure lifestyle which my mom knew about.

While at home attending to his business and staying with my mom, my daughter started crying on day and said that she missed her uncle so much. My mom then said, well, do you want to see Uncle ___ again? If you do, he will be on paradise earth with me and you, too, can be there.

I spoke up and said, what do you mean? He will be there? And she started babbling off some scripture about how those that die will be reserected. I really was in shock and didn't want to get into an lenghty discussion with her....

Have I missed something? I, also, read here on the forum that Saddam will be brought back. So, what is the deal? Have the witnesses changed there beliefs since I left or was I out in left field when I was in? All we have to do is die before the end to have everlasting life, no matter what we did on this earth?

if your relatives will not speak to you.... do not let them have any contact with your children, period.

OH!!! And I agree, if your parents do not speak to you - KEEP YOUR KIDS AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE. Do NOT allow your children near them.....

I am different. I let my kids stay with my mom, once in a while (maybe for a week or two every summer). She took them to the Kingdom Hall and had Bible studies with them. We would talk about it when they came home and I would explain that it is not the "truth". That it is a religion and there are many of them out there. I figured it did them no harm to learn about the Bible stories.

They are all adults now. Not one of them has had anything to do with the Witnesses. Franky, what CHILD would ever willing belong to this borg? If anything, it turned them off of all religion. 4 kids, not one of them are religous in any way, shape or form.

Well, personally I think they SHOULD have driver's licenses - it is the only way they can get car insurance..... securing the border is a more important issue than this - it will only turn off Republicans and they aren't gonna vote for him anyway.

Wow, zero - I hear ya - I have no real words of advice except what worked for me - I just jumped into the "world" feet first. It was odd and strange at first, but I quickly found out that most people are pretty much the same as you and I except they don't think the world is ending any minute now. That is the only real difference.......

Anyone still have trouble expressing anger?

having been doubly mind-f*&ked by an organization that preaches peace and poor boundaries and a perfectionistic mother who hates conflict, i find myself still having great difficulty expressing my anger in a healthy way.

my past response when angry was to cry or turn the anger on myself and become self-destructive, ultimately leading to suicidal thoughts.

i find lately my subconscious percolating anger almost constantly.

Gosh, I love this site - it is like looking in a mirror. I am learning so much about myself. Anger.....well, I just bottle it up and it simmers and pops out at inappropirate times. Didn't realize until now it was because of my JW upbringing.

Makes so much sense now..... thanks for starting this thread. And BTW, I am learning to say no and I am learning to not worry about destructive people and I am learning to just let them go and not try and work things out with them.... No thanks to the JWs - thank you Very Much! LOL

Going through a situation right now and I think it is the first time in my 50 yers on this planet were, just yesterday, I said to myself, self - this is destructive, run! don't talk to them., don't try and work things out, just stop answerng the phone and forget them and move on.... my, that felt good!
