JW opinions on gay adoption
by serenitynow! inthe whole prop 8 thing reminded me of a conversation i had with my aunt a couple of years ago- when i was inactive but mentally still a jw.
there was a "sister" who died young leaving her 4 daughters orphaned between the ages of 5-11 approximately.
my aunt was telling me the story, telling me that the kids' aunt & uncle in my aunt's kh went ahead and took the kids in.

great thread, i just asked a similar question on the prop 8 thread. how can someone say they would rather have kids in horrible living conditions rather than be with a gay couple that is stable?
that makes no sense to me.

I think Aguest has a balanced viewpoint on the matter as a christian. i kind of didnt care for a while about prop 8, as i am not gay and dont live in california, but then i started to watch both sides of the debate, and frankly the way the anti gay marrige people acted, and the hateful and mean things some of them said about gay people like comparing them to pedofiles made me take the side of legalizing gay marriage. the level of ignorance it takes to put gay people and pedofiles in the same catagory is staggering and upsetting. also the anti gay marrige folks kind of misrepresented the argument, they act like the issue is about biblical marriage, but its not, its about the rights that come with marriage. there are almost 100 rights that gay people were not allowed to have with their partners and children. so its an issue of civil rights, imo.
so the right is going to take this to the supreme court? why? why cant you let people live their lives? why must everyone be a christian or live the way you would like? how is that any different than the muslim countries?
to me if you believe in the bible, the bottom line is that humans are in a fallen state, and in the end God will sort everything out, its up to him who to judge. so its not up to me to judge gay people or anyone else.
i kind of on a rant here, but this brings up another issue, and thats gay adoption. i have a question for people against gay adoption, would you rather a child stay in some of these horrible orphanages than be with a gay couple in a stable relationship that can offer the child better living conditions?

JW YouTube newbie is begging people to ask him questions - we should oblige, lol
by Awakened at Gilead inthis guy posted a comment on one of my vids and as a typical jw thinks he knows all the answers to everything.
let's ask him some questions that might make him take his head out of his ass... post your question here :).

he uploaded a new video in which he states that from now on, HE will choose the subject that the questions will revolve around, and he will choose one "random" question from the comments as well.
So within what, 24-48 hours he has gone back on his word to answer any questions we have? thats classic.
the other thing about this dude, is he must be a kid, or just very ignorant of watchtower docterine. he doesnt even know the basics of many teachings, and then flat out says that he refuses to research it.
so here we have a person who doesnt know much about JW teachings, claiming to be able to answer all of our questions, but refuses to further his knowledge of said JW teachings.
that is insane but typical. im setting the over under for how many days it takes for him to delete his account at 7. im taking the under.

yo, i cant believe he told TimKilgore that he needed to be less educated to understand the blood docterine. And its amazing how they JW's have ZERO respect for experts in the field of medicine, blood, history, etc. wow.

Have you met this JW- "You were dumb to follow!"
by serenitynow! ini spoke to a jw who would not let me assign any blame to the fds/gb for their "suggestions.
" she was like, so your parents didn't go to college and served for years where the need was great (in poverty) and then struggled with kids and a ww business and no healthcare- nobody made them do it!
they were dumb!

its the same mentality that blames the parents of abuse victims for not going to police. (of course they completly ignore the fact that the parents were told by the elders not to go to the police or be DF'd)
sick, twisted, mentally ill cult members.

Oct 15th WT
by dozy innow up on jw.org.. it would seem that the days of "local needs" berating the flock may be coming to an end - one article instructs that elders should ensure that meetings are "encouraging" and that where counsel is needed for just a few people then it should be given privately rather than from the platform..

i think after the sept 15th wt they had to ease up just a tad, although its back to buisness in nov i bet. one thing i found hilarious was when they said Jesus invited his disiples to "a meeting". the new thing im noticing is that they are tying in every detail of the bible to the org. at the convention this year they said that Jehovah gave Mary an "assignment" when he had her carry baby Jesus. LOL. So when we get a theocratic assignment we should accept it like mary. ROFL
also, they said that the governing body instructed the fleeing of jerusalem.lmao.
its like they dont even care anymore and just make up whatever they want, like when they said the governing body appointed paul as an apostle.
unreal.

Instrucitons for using the toilet at the convention (pic)
by maninthemiddle inthis was posted in the men's room stall, i hear the instructions in the womens room was more detailed.. this was in addition to having a "bathroom attendant" handing out 1 paper towel per person.. i haven't felt so childish since i was in grade schooll, i had to wonder if all the tall people around me were really grown men and women.. .

at the last convention i ever went to i was in the bathroom washing my hands, and when i was done i went to the guy giving out paper towels, and he gave me 1, and it was not enough. so i used it and asked for another one and he said no. i was stunned, so i looked at him, and proceeded to dry my hands on my pants. he then must of realized how stupid the whole thing was, and proceeded to give me another one, but by then i didnt need it and i just walked out.
this was on top of attandants barking at people to use the hand rail every time they went up steps, and also on top of being screamed, and i mean screamed at by an attandant for being slightly out of the cross walk when crossing a totally traffic-less side street. in fact, he screamed at me to stop, and turn around and go back and walk the cross walk properly.
that was one of the most eye opening experiences for me, i realized something was very fucked up about this organization. little did i know at the time, that it was a cult. lol
