  My Husband and a JW

  my husband has been talking to a jw about business but the jw keeps inserting jw crap (i told my husband this would happen).

  i'm not worried about my husband listening to this man (my parents' negative example had taken care of that) but it is interesting and a tad disconcerting to watch how this jw man tries to rope my husband in.

  in 1995, it was discussed (positively) by everybody, during the week we studied the wt.

  one elder stepped down and was looked down upon.

  wow, i never thought i'd see the day when JW's compare their docternal changes to the catholics. that is simply amazing. 15 years ago the talk was that Jehovah's org was so much better than the Catholic church that to even compare anything Jehovah's org does with the Catholic church was blasphomy of the highest order. Now I see more and more JW's using the Catholic church as a comparision for docternal changes and child molestation.

  I guess if its good enough for the Catholic church, the great harlot of babylon, its good enough for Jehovah's witnesses.

  I never thought I would see the day when JW's would lower their standards to such a filthy level.

  But it is none the less and accurate comparision. The Jehovah's witnesses are much like the Catholic church in alot of ways.

  As far as my experience with JW's reaction to the generation change, they either dont care, or dont even know its been changed.

  Your average JW sitting at the meeting is not thinking about docterine, they are thinking about where they are going to go eat after the meeting.

  its not possible to have a discussion with debator since its clear she doesnt even having a 1st grade level of reading comprehension, and simply makes the same statement over and over again about the publications.

  you have every right to clentch your eyes closed and stick you fingers in your ears when presented with clear facts that prove your position wrong. however your better off just moving on, because you look like a complete ignorant fool when you try to defend an indefensible position.

  you also show a severe level of ignorance on how the organization is run, and its simply idiotic to state that those speakers at conventions were acting on their own accord and "running ahead".

  im just trying to figure out why you are on here. you are like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denying the holocaust to the surviors that were there and lived through it.

  you must have some kind of deep doubts that you are trying to deny and you come on this board to try to sooth your conscience.

  just because you say something over and over, doesnt and will never make it true.

  chapter 7 from 'shepherding the flock of god' published by the wts of penn/ny is part of their worldwide bible educational work.

  the wts is a non-profit whose publications are not for sale but are freely given to those who show 'genuine' interest..... while not required, a donation is always joyfully accepted .

  while admittedly my feelings were hurt by "the boys" yanking my 4shared files.. anywho.... the other part of my brain says 'it ain't personal' and just a game.....hey yall get out of 'whatever' your normal task is right!!

  this chapter proves false any claim made by JW's that elders arent judges and dont judge the friends, and that they simply are "spiritual doctors"

  At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?

  most of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.

  althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.

  finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

  its threads like these with people like debator that helped me realize that JW's do not discuss subjects honestly, and on top of that insult people for simply asking questions. Then when I learned about logical fallacies I could see that JW's use these almost always when they try to debate or defend their beliefs. This thread is a perfect example. It was then, I realized that there is no way that God has anything to do with such dishonest people. I realized it was a cult after reading Steve Hassans book, and observing the behavior of JW's on the internet message boards like this one and topix. I would like to thank debator and all of the other JWs on the internet for helping me to realize that the watchtower is a cult and its members are indoctronated slaves who cannot and will not think for themselves, and will also lie to defend the watchtower, as well as cover up child rape, and also defend child rapists and attack victims of child rape.

  Clearly when you have such a large group of people that defend evil, like child rape, we are not dealing with clear thinking people. We are dealing with members of a mind control cult. Debator makes that very clear. I thank you.

  last friday i posted something supportive of gays on facebook - it was as follows: put this on your status if you know or love someone who is gay.

  my wish is that people will understand that being gay is not a disease nor a choice- people who are gay are not looking for a cure but acceptance and equal rights... 93% won't copy and paste this.
