Penn State Decision and Will It Impact Anything Within WTBTS

i was thrilled to hear of the rulings handed down at penn state.

although they did not receive the official "death sentence" it was pretty impressive.

now comes the question.

i hope so. my thought is, look at what has happened to penn state after 4 or so people engaged in child abuse cover up. so now look at watchtower, how many people inside that organization have engaged in child abuse cover up? it has to be at least in the hundreds if not way more.

now, it still remains to be seen what law enforcement does, those of the 4 who are alive will most certainly go to prision, so that will i think set the table for future members of organizations who are caught.

and thats the key, watchtower needs to be investigated. hopefully as more and more lawsuits make the news, the FBI, or even a news organization will try to find out what is going on.

i think there is a much better chance of that happening given all that has gone down in the past 8 weeks or so.

not suprised at all, when Haiti got rolled by a natural disaster, someone on here shared a letter from there to a branch and the brother who wrote it mentioned a JW was in a college class when the building collapsed on them. his response was something to the effect that they should haVe listened to the FDS council against college.

Frankly, im a little suprised that the watchtower lawyers made such ridiculus argumentation. anyone think that this could be partly why they lost so badly? i really think it hurts them that the lawyers are also JW's. i mean this shows how clueless they are. who the hell would listen to this and be like "oh ok, no problem, zero on the punative". LOL

i admit, i enjoyed reading that because i know that the jury heard that and then rammed it up watchtowers ass in an all time manner. you dont get satisfaction like that often in life.

Horrific Violence in Today's Movies.

i found an article today that discusses the new batman movie.

growing up, i remember the batman and robin tv show from the 1960's, and i assumed that the dark knight movies would be along the same lines.

this is the type of pure bullshit i cannot stand. now before i go off, let me start out by saying that i totally respect it if like the OP states, he is used to old school batman, and i respect the fact that you dont like the new batman, and i can respect that you dont like violence in movies.

However it is outrageous, unacceptable, ridiculus, and ludricus to in any way suggest that the dark night or any other movie, video game, book, etc in anyway is to blame for not only this shooting or any other. (not saying any of you are making that argument but i just got done the first of many newspaper articles suggesting such madness)

give me a friggin break. i mean, i expect that from JW's, but come on. do some research, its pure BS.

now again, i respect the fact that some of you dont like it, thats totally cool with me. but if anyone is suggesting in anyway that there is something wrong with people who like dark night, grand theft auto, or whatever is taking a ridiculus position.

and i got news for you, as a collecter of movies, the violence in dark night is NOTHING compared to most rated R movies.

now, if you want to make the argument that children should not see it, I agree. if you also want to make the argument that a child who is exposed to this without any type of parental guidance can become desensitized, i will agree also.

but the suggestion that ANY entertainment can turn a normal person into a murderer is about as stupid of an argument as the earth being flat.

more than one gunman seems to be involved in this terrible act.

families were attending mid-night showings of the dark knight movie.. the media should not give publicity tothe names of the perpetrators, they often crave the fame.

give them that fame and others will crave it too.. my thoughts are with the families of all that are affected, a horrific and pointless act that will bring so much pain and sorrow.. edited to say, seems as though it was a lone gunman..

i'd be all for banning guns if you could also get them out of the hands of criminals. its a tough issue and i find the left's solution to ban guns could probably make the situation worse, and the rights solution to arm all of us is also ridiculus. the thing is, you can easily get a ccl and legally conceal carry. the right acts like guns are banned already, they are not. its just that in a case like this, no one was ccling in the theatre.

an all out gun ban could be great if you could get the guns out of the hands of the bad guys. since that is not possible i dont see how that is a good idea. also, a gun while not garunteeing making it through such a situation, at least increases your chances or making it.

im left on most issues, but on this one, i am all for legal licenced fire arms. in fact based on the crime in my neighborhood and what just happened in colorado, i am seriously considering getting a ccl.

the form includes the reasons for the action, a brief synopsis of the case.

it is then stuck in a special blue envelope and mailed to the branch.

defendant, the watchtower of ny, settled out-of-court for an unknown amount of money with the plaintiffs just weeks before the candace conti trial began at the end of may 2012 in oakland, california.

Yourmomma, I agree with you. Adulterers and fornicators can stop their sexual behaviors, whereas most gay people cannot. Adulterers and fornicators don't have to resign themselves to celibacy or having relations with partners to whom they are not attracted. But that's the fate that homosexuals have in Watch Tower world. Also the whole "sin" thing just freaks me out. If I remember correctly, the OT calls homosexulity an abomination just as it does a woman having her menstrual cycle or kids disrespecting heir parents. Funny how that works out in modern times.

exactly. all gay people to them are likened to adulters and fornicators. a gay person in a commited monogamous relationship is still lumped in with all them. they all ignorantly hold to the idea that being gay is just about sex, that clearly is not the case, and thats easy for me a straight guy to see. they act like a gay person can just not engage in sex and marry a member of the opposite sex and be happy. that is simply not the case.
