THE CURSE OF EXPECTING PERFECTIONISM
by Jang inthe curse of expecting perfectionism.
we feel annoyed or angry when people don't meet the expectations we put on them.
and even when our expectations are met we don't always feel very good about it.

If we could even come close to being 'perfect' Jesus would not have had to come to begin with. He died for us not because of our perfection, He died because we are dreadful sinners.

Why Japanese become JWs
by JWD ini have posted some of the following info in various other threads i`ve.
started which touch on the matter of jws in japan.however, people continue to ask me `why japanese become jws?`,so i thought i`d put.
down a few of my observations for anyone who might be interested.. as you may or may not have noticed, japan has(had) the fifth largest number of jws in the world.

by SharonUT inwho do jehovah's witnesses say they are?
do they say they are both jehovah?
also, is the new world translation bible on-line to look at?

Love to you sweet Sharon!
El and YHWH are simply two names for the same God, they are not separate, and there is no divine assemblage under God.
EL means GOD.
YHWH means I AM, BE, or I WILL BE.Hugs to you and I pray the Holy Ghost guides you to all truth! I love you dearest.

Baptism in whose name?
by SharonUT inif this has been answered before, just point me in the right direction.
matthew 28:19 says to be baptized in the "name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy ghost.
" what is the justification used in jehovah's witnesses changing this.

Hebrews 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir to all things, BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS...He is saying here the heavens and the earth were created by Christ Jesus!
vs8
But unto the Son, he saith, thy throne, O GOD, , is forever and ever....Jesus here is being called GOD. Not "a" God for there is only ONE God. Jesus is being called THE GOD.
And there is more too...not of my own interpretation for the menaing is clear and plain, and scripture is not up to private interpretation. More later....

Jesus in the flesh bowed to the perfect Fathre, perfect in Spirit, but even Jesus Himself recognised that He is God. More in a minute....

The Father's Name
by realcourchesne inhi, i'm new to this forum; im not a jehovah witness and was reading a book called you can live forever in paradise on earth.
in chapter 22, page 185, when teaching the importance of knowing the name of the father (jehovah), the watchtower bible and tract society says: in fact, knowing that name is necessary for salvation, as the bible says.
romans 10: 13,14. my question is: if knowing that the father's name (jehovah) is necessary for salvation; why even in their bible the new world translation, would jesus used the terms "my father," "our father," and "the father" when teaching about and praying to his father?.

The Father has MANY names, Jehovah is only one of them.
Focussing on just one name does not have you is it recognising that Jesus is Lord and King that truly saves, and that He gave His life for you on a CROSS, not a STAKE.
Be careful of trying to learn the bible from reading books on the bible. It really does not work that way, and mere men often simply do not get it right.
the WT is full of false teachings, and you would be wise to avoid them. Just warning in love.

I *witnessed* to the *Christians* last night--LOL!
by LDH inthought you all would enjoy this.. i went to a b'day party for a friend who is a bible-thumper in the worst way!
(10x worse than most jw).. i'm sitting around like a zombie while everyone is talking about how "blessed" they are to "know christ" blah blah blah blah blah.. then my interest got peaked as one of the women started quoting scripture talking about how the reason her life is blessed is that her great great grandmother was a russian mennonite blah blah blah and the bible says that god will bless your offspring if you come to know him.
blah blah blah.. so i start asking a few well placed questions like "well what does that mean for the poor muslim sop whose great great grandmother was a muslim?

MULAN
Though Buddhism is admirable in many respects for its similarity to Christianity, living the buddhist lifestyle does NOT mean that you are living as a Christian.
For there are major differences between Buddhism and Christianity (ie, they do not believe in God, and also ascribe to the concept of reincarnation, etc, etc)
God wants CHRISTIANS, and not just those who call themselves Christian by name, He wants those who believe wholeheartedly in Christ as Lord and King, and who follow His whole message to the best of their ability.....without foolish men like the WT standing in their way....

i'm past the anger now, so here comes the denial, and then the guilt.

Hugs and kisses to you, LOOKING
Looking in from the outside, I guess I am not sure how hard it is for XJWs to come to terms with what they faced inside that dreadful cult.
But if the Lord and King Jesus can forgive you, why can you not forgive yourself? It is time to let go and move on.
I love you, dearest one. -

LOGICAL- Peace and blessings to you dearest one.
And to all others...By whose authority does 1John 5:7 become spurious? You make God a liar if it is untrue. I remind you all even of the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 where the man who would come would be called The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Not 'A' god or 'A' Father, for there is only ONE LORD, ONE FATHER, ONE GOD.I ask you all to define John 8:56 & 58, where Jesus says Your Father Abraham rejoiced to see my day....
Before Abraham was, I AM!Jesus was speaking of the scenario that took place in Genesis 18, where the Lord came down as a man. It was JESUS He saw. And Jesus is calling HIMSELF the I AM, the name of God.
John 10:30
I and my Father are one.NOT one in purpose, but one and the same BEING.
John 11:25
I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
He here is speaking of qualities that apply only to GOD. And applying them to HIMSELF.Jesus is LORD and GOD.
Oh, and how about this one John 20:28 (After THOMAS had seen the risen Lord)And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God!
Greatest of love to all of you
Christina Douglas
