A pioneer? just studying before you came to your senses? or are you here actaully becasue your dating someone who's "in"? Survey says!!!!!
ME personally: I was an occasional auxillary pioneer, nothing too special.
is there any extent of the law which we could sue the society for taking our time, brainwashing us and tearing apart our families?
or would that just be pushing it?.
i ask because the attorney who prosecuted jfk's murderer came out with a book outlining a case against bush for murder which is pretty far-fetched yet convincing.
He was saying witnesses didn't put teeth under their pillows, not that the tooth fairy wasn't the one behind it. Geez, way over your head there....

turns out, if your spouse committs adultery, you are free to remarry (we all know this one).... .
but, did you know, that according to the watchtower, that if you, even so much as commit fornication (play with their genitals) with your spouse again before the divorce is finalized that you have thus symbolized that you have forgiven them and that you no longer have scriptural grounds to divorce them?
well, let's not forget thought that homosexuality doesn't count!!! If you're gonna do it, do it with the same sex...

Homosexuality is definitely condemned in the Bible as something that will prevent individuals from gaining God's approval. (1 Cor. 6:9, 10) However, whether an innocent mate would Scripturally be able to remarry after procuring a legal divorce from a mate guilty of homosexual acts must be determined on the basis of what the Bible says respecting divorce and remarriage…

Who the hell does the watchtower think they are that they get the right to decide what omits or permits the divorce to be legit? Jesus said "on the grounds of fornication" He did not say "except on the grounds that if you are weak and copulate again but then realize that they really do make you sick and you really can't stay with them after all....."
Them and their made up rules and their self appointed rightousness sickens me. Their just as bad as the jews when Jesus criticised them for making too many unnecesary laws that were not a part of the mosaic law.

that is what i want to ask my jw wife now.....cause my sister (lesbian who left jw 35 years ago) does.....and several new friends here at jwd seem to as well.........so if she loves me....and they love me.....why can't they love each other too????......................oompa.

I am eternally impressed at the amount of effort that you put into this woman. many people would have bailed on a witless by now, but you adore her and thats obvious becasue you stick it out despite the many many difficulties the split relationship is causing you. Do we love you Oompa? Yes!!! But I don't love your screen picture...... it kinds freaks me out.....

during my ten year sojourn through the watchtower, i was always amazed at the witnesses fear and fascination with demons.
occasionally at gatherings, they would exchange "demon" stories, which were just a jw way of telling ghost stories, and you would usually hear a few "uhhs" and "oh my's" as the story was told.
although i had heard folks of other denominations mention demons, it was never with the "shock and awe" the witnesses put into it.
Wow do i know how this is. I had a friend, who although economically strapped, REFUSED to buy anything second hand (garage sales, goodwill) because it could have demons with it or the previous owner could have had demons. Also, she would not take hand me down clothes or items from any people other than people she KNEW were totally legit. It was crazy, and she tried to push this practice on others too... She was only in her twenties, not a raving old nut.
I actually did have a wierd thing happen once though when my mom gave me a bag of horror movies to return to my sister. I got a wierd phone call that night with my mom on the other line, but she never actually called.... I just heard her vague in the background at two am. My mom swears she didnt call/ Now its wierd becasue I have NEVER EVER had a probelm with demons except for when I was a witness and paranoid of them, and yes, they DO teach you to be terrified of them.
My poor darling daughter suffers from occasional night terrors, a diagnosed sleep disorder where her little brain goes into a flight or fight mode while whe transferes from one stage of sleep to the next (cauing her to scream and fit while sleeping, never knowing she's doing it) It's only triggered when she's extremely over tired or overheated, so now she rarely gets them, we know how to prevent them. BUT, when we first told people about it, (we were so relieved to have a diagnosis, we thought we were just bad parents who couldn't get our kid to sleep through the night) YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY WITNESSES ACCUSED AND SUGGESTED MY TWO YEAR OLD HAD DEMONS OR THAT WE HAD SOMETHING IN THE HOUSE THAT WE NEEDED TO GET RID OF. It's like, you idiots. its a diagnosed sleep disorder, with known medical and physical causes, not a freaking demon. I was so insulted by those accusations and still am almost fearful when I mention it to people. It's funny, only witnesses ever gave the suggestion that my little angel was "demon posessed" The nerve. It takes a lot of guts to suggest to a parent that their kid has a demon and that your house MUST have demons in it.

i had just became a witness and a guy i worked with, who was also a jw, told me a story that actually made me laugh and i think it upset him a bit.
the storys were almost always in the third person.
it went as follows.. this brothers wife and him were sitting at the kingdom hall on the end seats of the row next to the back of the room.
I heard the walking smurf story in my congregation too, it seems to be a popular "urban legend". One pioneer in my hall swears her old boyfriend was posessed by demons and he used to channel them and once when they were having sex the demon come out and said it was him. Same sister told me she was playing with a Oijua board and things starting flying around and she tried to run but the door knob wouldn't turn. She says she tried to scream "Jehovah" but she couldnt speak. After a minute or so she was able to yell His name and then then door opened. Oh yea, and she said her dad was possesed by demons once and levitaed the couch. Yes, she is still a pioneer, Crazy huh? Tortured by demons and spreading the good old word.

it just came to me out of the morning mist.

so, i was thinking about the day to come and i had my hands in my pockets.

the practice of "shepherding calls" has always been somewhat of a mystery to me.. growing up, a shepherding call was for jws who were doing something that a few/some/most (didn't matter which) found stumbling or suspicious.
for instance, i remember my folks gossiping to each other about a jw couple who had been sloughing off the meetings in order to go dancing.
one of the congregation members (who were absent themselves on a particular night) saw them going into a dance club on a meeting night and promptly ran to an elder.
watch out, i said no thank you to many many visits myself, then you know what those sneaky bastards did? they sent ONE elder to my house in STREET clothes. It was sooooo obvious he was there to cousel me. After I bs'ed him with small talk for over half an hour I left the room and wouldn''t come back until my husband dragged me. After he started in on his spiel I remarked that it felt it was inconsiderate to pretend this was a social visit when it was obvious what he was here for and that it was dishonest. It was only a week later that two elders made a secret meeting with my husband (to make sure i'd be home) when they came over in suits with their apostate accusations. watch your peep hole and dont answer the door to them, EVER, casual or not.
