  Sea Monkeys

  i am not sure about the uk and other english speaking nations around the globe, but i can tell you this: sea monkeys were all the rage for a brief period of time in the united states and canada.. why?.

  check out this ridiculous advertisement from the back of one our comic books that anyone of us would view in the late 1960s and early 1970s.. sea monkeys.. do you remember them?

  do you remember the advertisements in marvel and dc comics?.

  What is the WTs latest stand on education/college?

  my jw niece quit college a short time ago and didn't finish her degree, which she seems very excited about and took on a menial job, which she doesn't too happy about, according to my father.

  my father (not a jw) is wondering what happened and if it is possibly something "the church" is now promoting.

  when my daughter went to a 2 year college i had some negative comments from those in the congo.

  The last WT mag I studied on this subject was about 3years ago. It stated that you are more likely to commit some serious sin like fornication if you attend college or Uni. It made me sick to see elders in my old cong with Uni education aggree with the crap in the WT. Such idiots.

  I do think as others that this is really not a good teaching from the piont of view that they are drowning them selves.

  why don't you "abyss" the devil for a thousand years.

  let everyone know how you exist and give us the basic principles you want us to live by, check in once in a while, and let it roll for a thousand years.

  at the end of a thousand years working together, turn the devil loose for a couple months.

  i was told that i have an earthly hope.

  Yes I agree completely. I looked this scripture up last year on the WT CD-ROM & apparently, the borg in their wisdom say its talking about a completely different arrival.

  So lets look back shall we. Jesus arrived in 1914....then again in 1918-19 to release that TRUE brothers from their spiritual bondage....then he is going to return again some time in the future (not sure when & the same word for arrival is used but what the hell it must fit in with current Borg time lines)

  The elders read it out at last years memorial as part of the talks and my little ears were pricked & I thought -what? Why am I here? He already arrived so why the memorial?

  Poor old Jesus back & forth between heaven & earth he must be a bit tierd after all those invisable arrivals. :)

  Is True Religion Possible?

  considering any religious presumption to be that we have fallen from perfection, is it realistic to expect an imperfect memeber of our speceis to fare any better than a perfect one who failed initially?.

  considering the often added feature of multiple deceptions and the rampant claim of an evil superpower who tricks what we see as truth in an angel of light format, can it seriously be expected that we have the mental wherewithall to accurately decipher truth from lies and also cope with all our biological urges often branded evil?.

  or is the truth that our biology is perfectly natural and our preoccupation with 'holy' in fact even dirties natural and beautiful gifts?

  This is what I have come to believe over my past year outside of the Borg.

  Early societies of mankind did not understand the world that they lived in. They feared it's natural phenomena and the fact that people grow old & die. In their limited understanding of the world they gave much of their wishes/prayers to these natural phenomena (it became there Gods)

  Over the many thousand years since these so called God's had been established, they have been given nations & power through their long standing in our cultures. They now are 'real to masses of people.

  Mankind, however, has evolved & grown up. People can see that natural phenomena is 'natural' & death is unfortunatly natural too. We can all pray as much as we can to the wind but we will still grow old & die.

  The sad & horrible fact is that people want their god to be the 'all powerful one.'

  They will kill, shun, hurt, anyone who states the opposite. And all this because they fear of nature.

  So, to answer the question....No, there cannot be a true religion today.

  Why? Because religion is not true.
