I WANT AN ANSWER !!
by Jessica Rabbit ini am mentally drained with one question only, and i ask this while looking up toward heaven.
" i started reading genesis yesterday, one verse at a time, and really trying to figure out why we are even in this boat we are in.
the only chapter i really enjoyed was chapter 1. it seems like everything turned to sh*t after the garden of eden was added.

After I was disfellowshiped I spent 16 years away from God. Kind of like being in limbo land. About 6 years ago I began reading the bible. I could not believe how different it was from what I had been taught by the organization my whole life. My eyes were being opened and I was in shock. Finding out what the bible really said became a quest!!
I became born again on October 27,1999!! I attend a Calvary Chapel church. They are non-denominational and are across the United States. I like it there very much. They teach the truth and use only the bible.
For those that are afraid of the stigma of going to a church that has a name or belonging to a churchI highly recommend them.

Which way will the Society go because of the Internet?
by be wise ini've only learned the truth about this society over the last 5 months or so, so i'm not sure what the difference is to say - 2 years ago.
do you think the society will now get even more cultish in it's methods of teaching and more heavy handed if they feel things are slipping?
i don't feel i'm being over the top here because i've experienced very heavy handed talks at the assemblies and kingdom hall in the past that are just plain scare tactics but this just makes people ask more questions ??

(The key is information and easy, private access to it. The JWs that will not go to a theater to see an R-rated movie, will rent one, buy one, watch pay for view, or wait for it to come out on cable. Those are the ones that will go out on the Net anonymously to view and read the forbidden. That is because in their minds they are serving men (not God) who cannot see.)
BLONDIE!!.......Excelent. I like that.....How true!! What is even sadder is that they feel by serving men they are in essence serving God. They preach that God sees and knows all.... yet who do they think they are kidding.

by lv4fer ini'm writing a book and i need your input.
i'm trying to determin if more people are born into the borg or are converted.
and if they are converted what religion they were before they became a witness.. so please answer these questions.. 1. were you raised a witness?.
-
gold_morning
1. Were you raised a witness? yes....third generation
If no
2. What religion if any were your before you became a witness?
3. Did you know the person that taught studied with you? Family member or Friend.
4. Were you a initially contacted by the door to door ministry? If not what other means.
5. Were you df'd before you started questioning the BORG? I was disfellowshiped and stayed away for 16 years. I questioned after I had the desire to find God again.
6. What was the big thing that made you take the first step into questioning the Borg and start you on your way out? Seriously reading the bible and seeing so many different things than what I had been taught. Especially after my father died I was convinced there was heaven and we go to be with HIM.

KGB,
Not eating pork was part of the old law. Jesus fulfilled the old law and we were not longer under obligation to it. Even the jewish circumsision was no longer required.
You can read this in Colossians 2:8-21.... espcecially verse 16 and 17
"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink..... these are a shadow of the things that WERE to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
All things are acceptable to God and each one does what his consicience tells him. If it bothers him to eat pork, he doesn't have to.... so long as he knows that it is not God making him not eat it.
There is a piece on this in Romans chapter 14.
hope this helps. gold_morning

Insight into Death ?
by Brummie inthis is not intended to be a morbid post but because of the nature of the topic i guess it is anyway!
have you ever heard of a long time terminally ill person who could live a few years more yet seem to know that they were going to die in the next couple of days?
my grandfather called my cousin into his room a few years ago and told her that his funeral was happening before his eyes, he could see it, he died that night.. anyway, back to the original ?, have you heard of similar things?

The night before my Jw father died I went to see him. I had been disfellowshiped for years. You know how JW's next to never really talk about Jesus. It was always Jehovah. Not that anything is wrong with that..... but we just never discussed Jesus in regards to our salvation. We gave Him no diety.
That night I was siting in the chair while he was sleeping. He woke up and seemed glad to see me. He started talking and he went on and on about Jesus. I thought that so strange coming from someone who was a JW his whole life. It wasn't that he even had a Catholic background or something.
I always felt that Jesus came to him and took him home. I think he finally understood the whole thing at the very end.

When my father died I was in the middle of becoming a Christian. I still was unsure of so much. After he died it became a real quest to know what the bible says really happens. I could not believe how different it was from what we had been taught.
These were the first scriptures
that got me thinking.
1John 5:12
"He who HAS the son Has life."
Notice the present tense here. It does not say that he
who has the son will have life someday in the future.
You know as a witness they teach that when you die,
you are dead. You are not conscience of anything at
all. You turn to dust. You are in God's memory to be
ressurected someday. Yet, it says here..... we have
this gift of life now as long as we have the Son. We
(HAVE) LIFE.
John 5:24,25
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and
believes him who sent me HAS eternal life and WILL NOT
BE CONDEMNED: he has passed over from death to life. I
tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come
when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God
and those who hear WILL live."
Prior to Jesus coming to earth, the dead could not go to
heaven and be with God because they were sinners and
imperfect. A debt had to be paid. The debt was death.
Jesus paid the debt for us. He did the penalty that we
should have paid. When he died, he said.."It is
finished."
We now became righteous before God becasue of him.
Nothing we can do will make us righteous. No amount of
good deeds or works. Jesus did it. WE just need to
really believe in Him. That is why the above scripture
says if we believe in Him we have eternal life and
will not be condemned (which was death). When we
believe in him we cross over from death to life. We no
longer have to pay that penalty.
When Jesus says a time is coming and it is now when
the dead would hear his voice and live he wasn't
kidding. He had arrived to pay our price and he bought
us. He bought Jew and gentile alike. The dead were
now able to live in heaven and those after him are now
allowed to go to heaven because we are now righteous
thru the blood of Jesus. He bought us....we now are
owned by him. We are now protected by Him. It was a
gift as I will show you later.
Remember, He came not to condemn the world, but to
SAVE THE WORLD. Save us from what? It was to save us
from death. He was successful. If we really still die
when we pass on, then his death is in vain. He really
did not save us from death if we still continue to
die. That is why 1Corinthians 15:13 says...: If there
is no ressurection of the dead, then not even Christ
has been raised. Then our preaching is in vain.
John 8:51
"I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he
will NEVER SEE DEATH AT ALL"NEVER means NEVER. He did not say maybe you won't
see death....or you will see death until I ressurect
you later. He said you will NEVER see death.
John 11:25
"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the
life. He who believes in me WILL LIVE, even though he
dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will NEVER
DIE."
So, we WILL LIVE and we WILL NEVER DIE.
The apostles felt the same way.
Including the apostle Paul. Pauls says:
2Corinthians 5:8
"We are confident. I say, and would prefer to be AWAY
from the body and at home with the Lord.
Philippians 1:23
"I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be
with Chirst, which is better by far. But it is more
necessary for you that I remain in the body."
See how he wants to give up the body and be home with
Jesus? The body is just needed to live here on earth
It is not needed in heaven. But the spirit resides in
the body!! The spirit lives on. The spirit is the
real you.I couldn't get over this one in Acts 7:59. It tells us where Stephen is being stoned to
death. It says...
"While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord
Jesus, receive my spirit."
How about the famous Matthew 10:28 scripture that says
to fear those that can kill the body.... but NOT KILL
THE SOUL!!!!
1Thessalonians 5:23..
"May your WHOLE SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY be kept
blameless."
Ephsians 2:4
"Because of HIs great LOVE for us, God, who is rich in
mercy, made us ALIVE WITH CHRIST even when we were
dead in our transgressions... it is by GRACE YOU HAVE
BEEN SAVED."I am so very sorry about what you are going thru. All your stories broke my heart. I hope this gives you some encouragement. I know it did me.

JW Friendly
by be wise inhi, be wise here going through a late wbts phase.. i've chosen for a long time to just ignore everything i was taught and turn my back on the whole jw thing for a long time now [this didn't help in the slightest].. it's only since i got on the web and got past that 'initial' fear of questioning things that i've started to mend.
i'm only just starting to look at what kind of society i've been indoctrinated by for most of my life and believe me it isn't good.
i've just been on randys website all night i haven't slept a wink but it was worth it.

Be Wise,
I remember those feelings you felt last night a few years ago when I decided to get the whole mess right. I was on a roller coaster ride too. I can associate. It was a difficult journey.... yet exciting too.
Don't stop there. Read the bible like you never have before. You will see things so differently. I was amazed at how different the things were I was reading in the bible from what I had been raised to believe.
Read the book of John just like you would read a good book. Get to know the main character. If you read it and hear JW voices in your head..... go back and read the chapter again. It got to be a learned skill to read it open and fresh.
If you have any questions....PLEASE feel free to e-mail [email protected]
Once you are hooked on discovering the real truth, it becomes addicting.
