One important thing to be well educated on is how to respond to the JW 'catch-alls'. Things like "Where else will you go?", "The Organization is made up of imperfect men", and "Wait on Jehovah". I have found that it's the catch-alls like this that keep many in the faith. They are so mind controlled to just default to these thoughts, and makes leaving mentally that much harder.

What got my wife's mind going was her doing research on the history of the Society on Wikipedia. This is a 'non-apostate' site that should make JWs feel comfortable reading. Just read the history of Russel and Rutherford, and you will see how God has no hand in this Organization.
This history brings out a lot of interesting facts, like how before 1914 Russel preached that the world was going to end in 1914.
This may get his mind going... You have an uphill battle... good luck...

Watchtower Speech Taboos - Censorship by Ommision
by unclebruce inbahbuttons said: another time i accidently told a kid god bless you in the kh and you'd think i just said every swear word known to man with the looks i got from everyone....another embaressing moment that was.............fond memories eh,lolquoteendquoteeend.
th is an interesting point.
apostates always bang on about watchtower double speak and the way the society twists words, investing them with mind-control triggers but rarely do we hear about censorship by omission, the words jw's can't speak.

How many ATHEISTS don't believe that they came from FISH?
by hooberus inhow many atheists are there who don't believe that they came from fish ?.
the outspoken ones that i have come into contact with always seem to (when pressed anyway) advocate such a thing.
many of them surely even put something like it on their car, such as:.

Being Atheist or Agnostic does not mean you believe in evolution. I, for one, fall under that category. I don't believe in the God of the bible, or the bible itself, but I have a hard time with many concepts of evolution. I do believe that natural selection does create stronger species and filters out the weak, but whether that actually creates new species, I'm not sold.
However, not believing in evolution, or any other non-biblical theory, does not in any way prove that God created life.

I did the unplanned fade like many others, but what I find ironic is how the brothers 'supported' the fade.
So if I'm 'down' (fading away) you would think they would try to encourage me by getting me involved, making me feel like part of the congregation again... it was the opposite... If I don't go out in service enough, I can't say prayer. I can't handle the mics, or any other 'priviledges'. The one thing I got to do that I enjoyed was reading at book study, and THAT was taken away due to poor service numbers.
It was as if the brothers were encouraging my fade by further removing the things that would keep me in... Glad they helped!

This kind of blind following at conventions used to drive me nuts! Looking back this was part of the dissonance building up. I refused to follow like a sheep. If everyone went blindly one way, I would go a different way just to not follow. Ahh the memories...

My 500th Post
by Robert7 inso i hit the 500 post milestone.
when i joined, i had just mentally 'snapped' the day before, and broke out of the mind control.
i knew it wasn't the truth, and proudly i did this with my own discernment.
