  Was "Purple Triangles" an attempt to put JWs on a level with the Jews?

  i mean, i don't doubt that jws were persecuted in ww2 but no one can compete with the jews when it comes to this.

  did it seem to you like a case of "no one gets more persecution than us jehovah's witnesses, and that includes you, jewish people"?

  The whole WW2 JW persecution topic used to really bug me. I mean, 50 million people died, 6 million Jews died, etc, and the JW's want sympathy for 4,000 deaths?

  It was horrible and all, but there is NO comparison. And the way people comment about the concentration camps, they DO want the JWs to be even at a higher level than the Jews.

  Another point, I never realized the purple triangles were other religions besides JWs. They seem to like the identity of the purple triangles, but that is not so true is it...

  What is the average age of those who no longer believe?

  i have been reading many posts today and some of you have mentioned your age and how long you have been away from the org.made me start wondering what the average age is for most on this site who no longer go along with the org.

  Comments like this towards the end actually helped push me out. When I hear comments like this, I immediately think "what are you hiding"? There is nothing THAT bad in writing that should be considered poison. At worst it's just false. So this was dissonance in action, and helped break me out of the mind control. I hope it does the same for others.

  Got A Letter From A JW

  i kept getting emails from a jw from somewhere, don't even know who she is.

  last night i finally emailed this person asking them to stop emailing me because i am not a jw and have no interest in the emails she sends.

  she practically sends 2-3 "spriritual" emails a day.

  This is some very strong guilt the WTS throws upon its cult members. I have gotten this many times. "Your kids will die", "How are you going to raise your children".

  i havn't posted in quite a while.. i thought we could move on.. .but my 8 year old is the most incredbly hurt brokenhearted girl by having her life-long friend ripped away by us leaving the organization.

  i tried to leave quietly, we're not dfed or anything... but her mother, my former best friend will not let the girls talk.. write.. contact ... period.

  my daughter is still crying all the time.

  The irony is that she takes her own daughter out door-to-door and instructs her that, when she's at school, to "witness" to others, so her daughter is sent on a mission to mess with the "spirituality" of every other child she encounters! How would this mother feel if all of the other children's parents responded to her daughter the way she's responded to yours?

  Very interesting point! Another double standard. Talk to others, but don't listen to them.

  while i was an active jw elder, i wouldn't have up until that last year.

  that's when i was totally mentally out, just going thru the technicalities.

  i still respect other jw's viewpoints on their not accepting blood----although i think they are terribly misguided.

  I always had in the back of my mind that I would take a transfusion if necessary, and if I got DF'd, I'd repent and return. At least I'd be alive.

  they may have disappeared off the face of the earth in the time of the flood of noah's day.

  even if they survived until the flood this would not require taking pairs of mammoth varieties into the ark.

  Here's another question. Why did a sacrifice ever have to be made in the first place?

  Jehovah created all laws, and he can obviously break many of them (walk on water, live in a fish, spontaneous creation of food, stop the SUN, etc). So why not change the sacrificial laws to not require his own son to die? Just fix the problem and move on instead of trying to prove some asynine point and make billions suffer.

  I agree. This "incredible sacrifice" just never really added up. Never understood how the suffering of BILLIONS, can be redeemed by one man's death. A death where he knew he'd be resurrected.

  I agree that if Jesus were to die forever, then that could be argued to be a sacrifice. What about the men who fight and die, who don't have this guarantee to be resurrected? Now that's a sacrifice.

  This seems to be another 'skirting around the issue', like how women can't teach on stage, but can speak to each other on stage and be overheard by the congregation. Jesus will technically die, but will actually take a 3 day nap, and life will resume as normal. Nice loophole.
