Since "god" is most likely a product of human creativity, it makes sense that we would be similar.

Are We Not Made In The Image of God?
by XxJazzxX inthis is a typical question i often hear when jws debate on christ's divinity(phillipians 2:5-7).
is is me or when they say this it sounds as if they put us(imperfect, human beings) in the same catagory with the messiah(jesus)?

Why choose Jehovah's way?
by wobble inwe have had six thousand years or so of satans rule.and yea he has cocked up big time, but what have we got to compare it with?
we are supposed to choose jehovah's way but we have only "seen" a bit of that in the garden of eden and that didn't go too well,so how do we compare???.

I don't believe we are under any supernatural being's rule. It relieves the stress of wondering who to worship or how to worship. Be a good person and if there is an afterlife, I'll deal with it when I get there! If not, you'll just be dead in the ground with no worries.

You're right, George Bush will still be president until January. Now give me my $100,000
Actually, HE was right, too. He doesn't owe you anything. He would only owe you $100k if he was wrong.

think of animals as "intelligent?"
Some no, some yes.
Does the phrase "dumb beasts" offend you?
Not in the least
Should intellgience matter in the way we treat animals?
Not really. I am more concerned with physical pain.

While I'm not racist, I do not believe that
All are born equal.

There is no such thing as "race" among human beings. It is a social construct.
So.. I'm not understanding the logic. Just because something is a "social construct" doesn't mean "there is no such thing".

I have tried to be an atheist
by stillajwexelder ini have tried to be an atheist- honestly, i have really tried.
i have most of dawkins books and many others.
i completely agree there has to be some evolution and obviously the fossil record in the grand canyon plus erosion shows it must be at least 600 million years old.

How does a belief in god suddenly assume belief in a mythical devil?
Do they come as a set?
Yes

I haven't read the other answers so if I'm repeating something.. sorry. Belief in a god and therefore an "afterlife" is a coping mechanism. It helps us to not see life as futile.

I'm disappointed, but I understand why he chose him. I'm not even sure who would have been a better pick.
