I recently started a similar thread. YES it is entirely possible to be friends with members of the opposite sex (or same if you are not hetero) and it be okay. It's more difficult, but certainly possible. I prefer male companionship.

Friendship with the opposite sex
by LoriJis ini have to ask a personal questions.
do you think it is ok to have a friendship with someone of the opposite sex if you are in a serious relationship or married?

Healthcare reform has passed and is signed into law... this is a Big F*cking Deal!
by Elsewhere injust ask our vice president joe biden.
once again, he has put his foot in his mouth by dropping the f-bomb when he shakes obama's hand.. granted... i'll take biden's "this is a big f*cking deal" over dick cheney's "go f*ck yourself" any day.

Paranormal Activity
by XJW4EVR ini finally saw this movie.
i am a huge chicken when it comes to movies dealing with the paranormal.
i watched this based on a recommandation, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I watched it and liked it. I enjoy movies where the "monster" isn't in your face or where you're not sure throught out most of the movie if it's real or in their heads.
If you liked this one you might also like The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It's scarier though.

Help please - my wife wants a divorce
by IMHO ini've read some old posts and they don't really fit my situation.. my wife just told me she wants a divorce and that's it after nearly 20 years., she doesn't want to try to work on it.. other posts talk about friends and family.
i have no family and no friends (due to a lot of traveling).. i went back to my hometown a year ago (after many years away) and even then old friends treated me as a stranger, like they've moved on.. i've had a lot of emotional / mental problems, basically a breakdown so have found it impossible to fulfill my role as a husband for many years, emotionally and physically and she said she's had enough, although she's never talked about it before.. she went out and had an unplanned one-night-stand.
i forgive me but she says she doesn't love me anymore.. we both find it very difficult to communicate our feelings.

IMHO, do you leave the house? I'm just wondering if you possibly suffer from agoraphobia.

I know the thought of being without her feels like your heart is being ripped out. I promise you, you'll get through it like so many others before you. Right now you need to work on building friendships and outside relationships so that your entire focus is not on that person (I understand because that's how my life has been for far too long).
Others might recommend marital counselling, but in my humble opinion, that's just prolonging the inevitable. If you love her, you'll let her go and be happy. It might take that much for her to realize that she loves you. Or, you might realize that you can be happy on your own. Don't drag out a failed relationship (again.. speaking from experience).

Once a cheater, always a cheater
by Quillsky inif you discover, while getting to know a potential partner, that they have cheated on a previous partner........ don't touch them.
run run run.. in my opinion a cheat remains a cheat.
opportunity is the variable.. please discuss..

I’ve been cheated on and I’ve also been the “other woman”. Cheaters cheat because of opportunity, desire, boredom etc etc. Would a cheater cheat again if given the opportunity? Possibly, but I don’t think there’s any hard and fast rule.
Ditto to all of the above. I do think a person can only cheat once, but I also think that most people cheat. We aren't naturally monogamous creatures.
FYI: I've never physically cheated on anyone, but I suppose I have emotionally.
