Hydrox? Nasty, nasty things. Oreos all the way, mon ami! And the best ones are the chocolate covered ones. Like these:
i was "counseled"* for being mad that my jw boyfriend began dating my sister.
it was wrong of me to have feelings.
any embarrassment i felt was due to being puffed up with pride.
I was "counseled" for not underlining my magazines.
so, what book contained the first official history of jehovah's witnesses?
no, it was not jehovah's witnesses in the divine purpose (1959).
it was qualified to be ministers published in 1955. here is a file that contains the section "modern history of jehovah's witnesses" taken from that book.
Modern History of Jehovah's Witnesses, Study 76, Early Voices (1870-1878), page 297:
"Early Christianity with its brilliance of right doctrine and cleanness of theocratic organization began to be be eclipsed after the year 100 by a creeping spiritual darkness of "Babylonish" religious teachings, Grecian pagan philosophies and rank apostasy."
Well, the WTBTS itself certainly qualifies as rank apostasy. Uninspired prophecies, teaching that Jesus is "a God", channeling the dead... It can't get any more rank than that (not for lack of trying, though it can, and it has).
Thanks, cabasilas.
With what objective in mind?
i have been able to tell my kids that since we are jw's we don't do cristmas.. to help the kid, we are giving presents every other week until the seasons over, to make them feel good about themselves.. the other day, she starts humming "jingle bell rock".
i told the kid not to do it, since we jws don't do cristmas.. the response was "the songs not about cristmas, but about jingling and rocking".. what should i do really?.
i'm trying to instill things like: "as jws we dont do this and that".
"the songs not about cristmas, but about jingling and rocking"
And she sussed that out all by herself? Good for her! You should be proud, DC!
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride, Frosty the Snowman, Let it Snow, Winter Wonderland are all seasonal songs. They are certainly apropos at this time of the year. Since your daughter has come to this realization on her own, arguing about seasonal songs may teach her a lesson about the irrationality of the Society (without going full-bore "apostate").
2009 will be here in a few weeks.
that will put us only 5 years away from the 100 anniversary of christ's return in 1914. is the watchtower planning anything to commemorate this historic event?
do you think they will have special addition of the watchtower?
Souvenir t-shirts would be nice!

that means that 79% of the american public are officially "bush-haters.

Yes and don't forget demonizing the other guys.

Come to think of it, there are a lot of similarities between the GOP and the GB.
Both are patriarchal groups of men that lie to you, and rob you of your health and well-being, while all the while sanctimoniously claiming to love you (the "other sheep", Americans) the most.
