This is a verse JW's use to often say about certain ex-members, "they really never were a JW". Of course, that is utter BS. I really WAS a JW, gave a lot of my time, energy and resources to them. If everything I did as a JW didn't count, then I want a refund of my approximately $5000 in contributions to their worldwide work.

Pamela is a perfect example of the reason Jehovah needs to bring an end to all people who don't follow the Watchtower's Governing Body. I mean, look how much glory she's accepting for being honest and turning in $7000. Doesn't the Bible say when making gifts of mercy don't go blowing your horn ahead of you?
JK. The world goes around because of good people doing the right thing millions and billions of times a day, without it ever making the news. The few bad eggs who deliberately ruin things for others draw more attention but are the exception and not the rule (exactly the opposite of what doomsayers will tell you).
i think a lot of people at bethel especially the older ones are terrified of these new guys on the governing body and already know they are a bunch of over the hill narcissistic personality disorder cases.. but they are caught in the middle and i'm sure lots of people are waking up with these egomaniacs around..
Although we can't state with certainty the psychiatric condition of the Governing Body, one can only hope this part is true:

But I don't know if they are "waking up" or just plain scared. In either case, because they have been taught so well to be in fear of men (no matter how harshly the leaders behave), they probably still think the religion is true.
It's the same mindset that makes most JW's think that the problems they see are only in a few bad congregations like theirs, but on the whole they believe the worldwide brotherhood is fantastically great.

the return of Christ was 1874 as a doctrine till the 1930's. I think that 99,9% ov all active JW's don't know about this.
I sure never did, and I was one who took JW doctrine seriously from youth on up. I read everything I could get my hands on, including their Proclaimers history book - and I never knew that in the 1930's they replaced the 1874 date with 1914 as the "beginning" of the end times. How convenient, for them.
not saying that's my personal opinion, but this week's congregation bible study asks the viewpoint question, "would apostate literature or internet sites intrigue you or repulse you?

The Watchtower has convinced today's Witnesses that the organization = Jehovah, and vice-versa. They do not clearly define their terms, for example to them "the Lord" can mean either God or Jesus.
If you renounce the organization (according to their reasoning) you renounce Jehovah, and vice-versa.
i have read some of you talking about baptism not being a legaly binding contract as, for most it was undertaken as a minor.
has anyone successfuly nulled their baptism and exited free of consequence?.
If we are no longer JW, we are worldly, but yet we are treated worse than worldly. Why?
Because it's the standard set by the Watchtower itself.
In July 1992 the Watchtower said: "The obligation to hate lawlessness also applies to all activity by apostates. Our attitude toward apostates should be that of David, who declared: "Do I not hate those who are intensely hating you? (Psalms 139:21)"

I seem to remember our mom counting our time as her own before that. Is that normal procedure? I can't remember.

I'm quite sure that publishers could only count their own time spent out in door-to-door work, return visits or Bible Studies.

This would be a tough one, because any civil authority considering making such nullification available would have to do it for all religions that baptize minors, including Catholics.

JW kids = free child labor for the WT publishing corp.
JW kids = hard to say "no" to when they come to your door with a cute magazine presentation.
JW kids = about two-thirds will leave the organization as adults.
I fit into each of the 3 categories above starting by age 7 at the latest (I can't remember for sure).
