The Facebook Shun
by sass_my_frass ina modern twist on the shun the other day: somehow an old jw friend had added me to her facebook friends a few months ago.
i thought i'd leave her alone for a while, figured she'd read my blog and discovered my current opinion on the organisation and what they did to my family.
i hadn't messaged her, but the other day i'm on and notice that she's online, so i start a chat.

I had a old friend of mine do something similar recently. this person had been one of my best friends growing up.She found me on myspace added me and we started emailing back and forth. The second she realized that i do not go to meetings.. haven't in years and she found out i had married a non believer she deleted me off her friends list and put her profile to private. It stung for a second when i realized what she had done.. After i got over that initial shock i could not help but laugh to myself. This girl with her holier than though attitude. This is the same girl who got dis fellowshipped at least 3 or 4 times when we were teenagers... for what you ask? For giving anybody and everybody Oral sex. Yes. she is so much better than me!

Autism Times six.. on discovery health
by Cc81 inhas anybody seen the ads on the discovery health channel for the show autism times 6?
they have 6 children and apparently all 6 of the children have autism.
i was doing some reading about this family.. its very sad.

absolutely. You never know with autism. i understand that. What do you think about immunizations and autism? I have heard so many conflicting reports on it. I also know many mothers who feel as if the immunizations had something to do with it.

They are all interesting points. and everybody is entitled to their own thought or feeling on the matter. I happen to agree a little bit with everyone. i started this thread simply because it was a thought that crossed my mind after seeing the preview. My best friend has a little boy, he is 4 now. And he has severe autism. I love this child. He is like a nephew to me. But i also know how hard it has been for my friend. She has personally made the decision not to have any more children simply for the fact that she wants to focus on her son and help him. That was her decision. I am not saying it is right or it is wrong. And i was not saying that the family having six children with autism was wrong. It was their choice.I just know how hard it is to care for one child with a handicap. I cannot imagine having six of them.. I feel that if i was in that situation that i would have stopped after 2 or 3 and focused on the ones i had. Like i said before.. i don't believe in abortion myself. so if i knew a child was going to be handicap i would continue the pregnancy.

Renee, that is very interesting. I personally do not believe in abortion so i would carry a baby to term regardless of what condition they had. I just found it sad that all 6 of these children have autism. And like i said.. after giving birth to 2 or 3 children who had autism you would think there plates would be completely full as it is. I think at that point i would want to prevent pregnancy so i could focus on the ones i had.

Has anybody seen the ads on the discovery health channel for the show autism times 6? They have 6 children and apparently all 6 of the children have autism. I was doing some reading about this family.. its very sad. I cant help but wonder why they would continue having children after realizing that the older children of the bunch had autism. The oldest child is 14, the youngest being 3. I do not mean to sound ignorant or mean. They must be amazing parents to do what they do everyday. I have a lot of experience with children who have autism having worked as a nanny for special needs children for about 10 years. Its one of the hardest things to deal with. Its a very sad thing.. i just dont think i would have continued having children after realizing all of the older children were special needs.. Any thoughts on this?

back in my pioneering days i used to do phone witnessing a LOT. When we were sick, or if it was raining... that was just what we did... The worst thing we did was walk around the MALL when it was crappy out and walk up to random people and witness.. i used to HATE that.
