  there's a lot of them!.

  one rule is you can't wear a tee shirt with writing on it if you are working at a quick build kh .

  nothing with logos.. let's add more stupid rules that were in your hall or that the organization has.. .

  Like "St George" I'm in the UK
  I was a JW from 1971 -2001.

  In that time never came across probably 95% of rules that have been mentioned.
  Never came across any congregation where it was white shirts only.
  In fact in all the years I was a JW I never wore a white shirt, even for public talks.
  The no beards thing, I think was the only one that was common.
  Yet even then I have met brothers who had beards.
  I recall going to an Elders/Min Servant school one year,
  and two Elders, not young guys either, from North Scotland both had full beards.
  It certainly stirred things up amongst the other brothers.

  Over time I've noticed that the majority of these "rules" seem to be American congregations.
  Many at the whim of local Elders.

  it's been my experience so far, that anything a person wants to find out about jehovahs witnesses, they can find out from jehovahs witnesses.

  any and all information ever published by jehovah witnesses is accessible to all.

  Know to many JWs , who only believe half of what they are told.

  No different from many other religions where majority of members,
  who really have no idea what they are taught or believe.

  according to the latest statistics published by the ncc in its yearbook of american and canadian churches, the jehovah's witnesess had the highest growth rate, in 2010 growing 4.37%.

  this is, i believe, is the 4th year in a row, that the witnesses had the highest growth rate.

  roman catholics grew by less than 1%, as did most of the other churches listed.

  Talked to hubby about Jesus being the Mediator for only 144,000 he said it made total sense

  ok so my husband and i sat down and i told him that i never totally got it that we as jehovah's witnesses believe that jesus died only for the 144,000. i showed him 1 tim 2:5, john 6:40, john 20:31, gal 1:4, gal 2:20 where it clearly says he died for everyone.

  he said jesus died because we need a new covenant and he gave me jeremiah 31:31 then he went to heb 8:6-9 where we need a new covenant and the ended at luke 22:28 where jesus is talking to his disciples and they were part of the 144,000 so clearly jesus was meaning the new covenant was intended for the 144,000. jesus did give is life clearly for all of us as long as we are in contact with his chosen 144,000. if we ever stop believing in the anointed we are toast.

  now my husband has been in the "truth" since 1972 and was an elder for 32 years.

  Try this way of looking at it.

  The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 people are in the New Covenant. What does the Bible say? Galatians 4:22-31 mentions how Abraham had two sons, one by Hagar the bondwoman and another by Sarah the free woman. These sons being Ishmael and Isaac respectively. Verse 24 states clearly that these two women, "stand as symbolic drama, for these women mean two covenants." New World Translation, Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. Verses 24 & 25 tell us that Hagar symbolises the Old Law Covenant from Sinai, while in verses 26 & 27 Sarah stands for the New Covenant and the Jerusalem above our [i.e. the Christian's] mother. In verse 27, Paul quotes from Isaiah 54:1 where Jehovah God is married to the nation of Israel via the Law Covenant. Compare also Jeremiah 3:14, 31:32. Thus the barren or desolate woman which represents the New Covenant, has "many more children" [NKJV] or "more numerous" [NWT] than the woman who has the husband. The latter representing the old Law Covenant between Israel and Jehovah.
  
  It is evident that this old Law Covenant brought forth millions of children from the time of Moses to John the Baptist - Matthew 11:13. And we read here that the New Covenant would bring forth many more than this; yes they would be "more numerous" as the NWT puts it. The New Covenant would comprise Jews and Gentiles, without any distinction, see Romans 3:22. Thus, it can be easily and Scripturally demonstrated that the New Covenant is made with millions of persons, and not just 144,000 as is taught by the Watchtower Society of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  "Loose conduct" is to become "Brazen conduct" more accurately conveys what the original Greeks means
  
  I have a feeling its so they can catch those who speak out against the WT more easily.
  
  Dictionary definition of "Brazen" is someone who is "Shameless, Impudent, Bold"
  
  Whereas "Loose" is usually someone "Immoral, sexually promiscuous"
  
  I can see "Brazen Conduct" being used against a JW who stands up or goes against the Elders.
  
  Be interesting to see if anything else sneaked into the new book.

  Anyone Know JW's who Donated Inheritances, Estates,$$$ to WT Society ?

  if so - without divulging any names , approximately how much was donated to the wt society ?

  if you are aware of approximate amounts.

  as many know the wt society yearly puts out calls in their publications for witnesses to donate trust funds, wills, inheritances, estates, jewelry, cars and whatever else they have to promote the aleged " kingdom interests " in furthering the " good news " around the world.. personally i feel it's all been a scam to continue exercising control over witnesses by influencing them to financially deprive themselves so the wt society can continue it's operations.

  We had a JW sister , one of the "anointed", when she died aged 100, in the early 1980's

  Who left £10,000 to the congregation.

  I think about £25,000 to the organisation.

  The house etc, she left to the JW sister, she had lived with for about 60 years.

  our understanding of the Scriptures. Proverbs

  4:18 says: “The path of the righteous

  ones is like the bright light that is getting

  lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.”

  Increased light inevitably leads

  to adjustments in the way in which we ‘sing

  the truth.’ For the past 25 years, Jehovah’s

  Witnesses in many lands have enjoyed using

  the songbook entitled Sing Praises to Jehovah.

  _ In the years since that book was first

  published, the light has been getting brighter

  on a number of topics, and some of the

  expressions used in that songbook have become

  outdated. For example, we no longer

  speak of “the new order” but of “the new

  world.” And we now state that Jehovah’s

  name will be “sanctified,” not “vindicated.”

  Clearly, from a doctrinal standpoint, there

  has been a need to bring our songbook up to-

  date.

  In other words , because our teachings keep changing we even have to alter the words in our songbook.

  Otherwise you might start to question.

  It says : Do you discourage your children from leaving
  their seat unnecessarily during the song?

  Now the poor kids can't even get a break from the boredom.
