when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.

i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.

It was the total lack of love, support and help at a time I needed it. Finding out about the Watchtower teachings etc, was a consequence of that lack of love.

I have often said if one of the so called "shepherds" had said "OK we'll help you and your family get through this. Get you back on your feet and strong again."

No, instead it was get me removed from my home and family, send me to another congregation, were I was ignored. From then to when I DA'd a period of 5 years I received 3 "shepherding visits" and they didn't even touch on helping me. In the two years I stopped going to meetings and DA'd there was no call or visit from any Elder.

As is said above ... They go on about doing a "saving work" and are concerning about saving people.

But if you are a JW and need "saving" forget it.

Does anybody here notice that the scanned pages are dated May 1, 2007?
Today is March 29, 2007.
As much as some of us would love to have "written proof" of the WTS contradicting itself, the dating sounds really fishy.
Unless bob1999 has a time machine, has a "pre-release" agreement with WTS, or something of the sort. The pages could be fakes.
To be sure, we will have to wait until May 2007's issue...that way there will be a hardcopy.

Very often WT magazines are received at the congregations, up to a month before the issue date. .

several individuals on this discussion board still carry the watchtower cross .

on their backs.. the time to move forward and the time to move on true, the watchtower experiences were earth-shattering events in most of our lives.

but why do we still hang onto it? It seems the Watchtower Society has a stranglehold
on individual’s lives years, if not decades after ending their association with Jehovah’s
Witnesses

Precisely because it was an earth shattering experience. Would you tell someone who was at the World Trade Centre on 9/11 to stop "hanging on" to the experience.

Do I forget 30 years of my life was wasted serving a deception.

Do I forget that I attempted suicide because of depression partly caused by the demands of the Watchtower.

Do I forget that my wife and two daughters are still JW's and that its OK that they haven't spoken to me for nearly 6 years.

date : 20.03.07. foster mother eunice spry has been found guilty of subjecting children in her care to two decades of horrific abuse.. the 62-year-old, from tewkesbury, beat them, fed them rat droppings, stopped them sleeping and rubbed their faces with sandpaper.

she thrust sticks down their throats when they misbehaved and made them eat dog food.. one daughter was forced to use a wheelchair for four years even though she was perfectly able to walk.. doctors, teachers and neighbours raised constant concerns about spry's treatment of the children but nothing was ever done by social services.. the catalogue of abuse only came to light when one of the children went to the jehovah's witness elders at the church the family attended.. spry, from tewkesbury, was found guilty of 26 charges of cruelty after a three week trial at bristol crown court.

Agreed that any individual could behave in such a way. We have seen similar cases in the past.

Having seen todays papers on the subject they have all said she was a "devout Jehovah's Witness".

To the JW's this will be seen as "bad publicity".

I received an e-mail today from an exJW who asked his JW parents about it. Their attitude is that the woman could not possibly be a JW and that the "media" have made a mistake.

Its a bit like the paedophile issue. They will deny such persons exist within the organisation.
