  i have visited several churches with family and friends and this is something that i cannot get used to.

  i do not know if this is basically done in black churches or not ( i am aa) but it makes me a little uncomfortable.

  i will say that i have had feelings in these churches that i have never felt in the kh.

  Can't say I agree with the video but then it holds the same view of the spiritual gifts as the WT.

  So what's your history? Have you been through the JW mill or else another cessationist stream?

  Trying to reason "living on earth" and not "heavenly hope"

  a witness trying to reason with me throws out a doctrine supportive question like "don't you think it makes more sense that god wants us to go back to his original plan of being on a paradise earth, rather than being in heaven"...so why would i think going to heaven is the more correct outcome for believers.. ok, so if that's the case, why the need to depict all the clothed people in all the "after" renderings in the watchtower, where everyone has clothes on?

  by her argument, why isn't there renederings of naked people, if that's what god's original plan was?.

  i just think it's funny, that certain details are overlooked in the reasoning with these people..

  4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

  According to the WT there are two Lords (Jesus and "Jehovah"), two hopes ("heavenly" and "earthly"), thus two faiths etc.

  Try them with this too.

  God's Name Discussion

  several weeks ago, i was attending a meeting with my wife and i brought my king james translation of the bible with me.

  one of the brothers came up to me after the meeting and asked me what translation did i have and i showed it to him.

  he asked if i knew that god's name appeared in that translation and i said, "yes, psalms 83:18 i do believe.

  Does Paul bring up Isaiah 28:16 in reference to Jesus or "Jehovah"?

  What is the "Lord is Lord of all" Paul is referring to?

  If verse 12 should read "Jehovah", not "Lord", why does not verse nine state a confession of "Jehovah is Lord"?

  seems like a lot of people are motivated to believe the "right" thing to avoid punishment.

  hi i would try to keep this short and explain my topic as i see in my mind.. .

  if we are in this reality system of things living a life that would never come to us again ;like this is it we won't reverse our actions and so forth.. how can i know my own mind won't guide me to a hole in the matter of serving god and his org.. is me thinking i'm in the wrong path or is just the devil influencing me somehow.. what pill should i take.

  red or blue.. red you wake up in worderland and everything is as it was before.. blue, you wake up to reality where things are all changed.. what should i do.

  i want to take this opportunity to start a thread inspired the poster dark side.. sometimes people come across on here as mean spirited or hopelessly grumpy.

  and it's obvious when you read their posts that they are good people and really just need some soothing healing love.

  so please, use this thread to spread some soothing, healing love to anyone, especially the social porcupines.

  Is there anything wrong with "United in Worship" book?

  few months ago in my country (eastern europe) a letter was read in congregation, that the "united in worship of the only true god" (the blue book people studied as a second book after "you can live forever"...) is updated an replaced by another book and all publishers should bring their copies to elders.

  the reason presented was that brothers (due to efficiency) want to recykle the books ecologicaly (iam not making this up).

  it was literally said, that all books should be taken to the kh and not a single copy should be kept home.. when my mil told us that (we were not going to meetings at that time already with my wife) i told her, that as far as i know brothers do not have any recykling facility and if they do and want to be ecological, they should ask for all updatet publications, not just for this book.

  There must be "noo light" so they need to destroy the "old darkness".

  Anyhow, today's "noo light" is just tomorrow's darkness, just study the historical doctrines of the WT.

  Stick around long enough and they surely the JWs will become "YWs"!

  ever noticed how you can ask a jw a biblical question and they immediately are reaching for the wt cd?!.

  sure, they claim the bible is their "highest authority" but in practice the wt publications are the highest authority for the jw.. .
