but do you think that these ones that still believe in christ and his crucifixtion will still be saved?

after all, salvation does not come from an organization.

leavingwt I would like to invite any Calvinists to respond or correct my next statement. . .

If God predestines everything, then you cannot choose Christ. God will choose you, if it's his will. If he wants you to burn in Hell for all eternity, there is nothing you can do about it.

I dunno if I qualify because I don't know if I am truly Calvinist! I just read the bible.

I partially agree with the statement, God can do what He likes, that is the natures of being God.

However, He is not evil and hates suffering. He does not want anyone to perish but He is holy.

Trying to understand predestination will mess with you head, same as trying to grasp the nature of God's with our finite minds.

You need to put this doctrinal issue on one side for now and concentrate on answering the call :) 1 Samuel 3:9-11 , Matthew 4:18-20, Hebrews 3:7-9

Mad Sweeney I'm with you, Brotherdan. Being a Christian is an individual thing. It is the exact opposite of what the Borganization teaches. The Bible is NOT an organizational book, it IS a book for individuals. Salvation is NOT through an organization, it IS through the individual.

Amen, that individual is Jesus Christ :) Acts 2, Acts 4, Romans 10

Mad Sweeney On a side note, I am convinced that Stephen is sincere and well-meaning. That said, he is also a firm believer in the ungodly exclusivity propounded in the Bible (which is a product of the early Catholic Church). Sad that.

PSacramento Stephen and I do not agree on all things, I am not a Trinitarian for example, though I do believe Jesus to be God in the sense of Nature and union, just as I beleive the HS to be God,yet I have no issue in his belief system nor woudl I ever say it is worng or incorrect, we can agree to disagree because we allow for our similaritites to "outshine" the differences and neither is trying to convert the other.

New light what is it...cos I'm confused??

ok this is the biggest problem i have ...well one of...and that's the governing body's stance on "new light".

to me its like a dimmer light , whatever subject you have the light on, starting with the lowest setting you can make out the basics.

when the dial is turned up slowly to the brightest setting, you then have the whole, complete,picture...but you don't have a whole new subject matter in front of you.. so i can understand them starting with the basics then later on slowly revealing more and more as it is revealed to them...but i dont understand starting with one idea and completely changing that idea over and over again.. and if the light is not that bright on a subject, isnt it common sense to keep your big trap shut until your sure or the light is brighter, so you don't stumble millions of people in the process??.
