Why did God kill children?

the atheists and bible deniers love to talk about how hateful and murderous god is.

i suggest the following.

i believe that the children that were killed in warfare by the israelites were taken to heaven with god.

As for me, I am raising my awareness of the One who knows everything.

IMHO, the only important thing is knowing Him. In fact He doesn't do anything without letting us know first :)

I HATE this religion

so today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.

as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.

but she is giving me the silent treatment.

brotherdan So...I can accept that. I went out to lunch and did the most unchristian thing ever (sorry my brother, Stephen)...

I drank 8 beers and came back to work. Fortunately my boss is not here. But I am a loser and I give it all up. Wow...yeah, I loved my wife so much Igave it all up. I'm done. Love you guys. But I can't do it anymore. :-(

I could tell you about many more unchristian things I have done that would make your eyes water but probably not on here.

I don't get drunk often now but as I had my fill of booze and drugs from years passed.

Whatever we do, our Father loves us. That's unconditional love. He sees the image of His Son in us. He builds up, not knocks down.

I think it is good you take a break from here. In this virtual place there are thorns amongst the roses. Also, the myriad of conflicting advice can cause confusion.

You know what is right to do in your heart. Take counsel from the Counsellor :) Stand firm on the Rock!

I HATE this religion

Let her go. Take it from me, she'll be back sooner or later.

The space will be good for her, she'll realise what she has left behind.

Ask for more of the peace which surpasses all understanding and rest in that and the love which just keeps on giving :)

Do not pander to the flesh which screams to get mad, get even, get revenge etc.

Anyone any profound experience?

since leaving the borg a couple month back i have as some of you know seemed to get lower and lower.

my friends have slowly but surely drifted and we (my hubby and i) are treated very much like 'apostates' now and have been tried to be shoved out by them trying to get us to da ourselves.

and now i feel quite lost and am really struggling.. at first i continued to pray to god, believing he was listening and i could draw comfort from the inner peace i seemed to feel???

I dont know if i am just waiting for some miraculous windfall that would come in the way of a million pounds to get me set off in a different direction in life, or what, but i do feel like at the moment all i want is to feel peace, and no more bitterness against the org.

brotherdan Part of the problem is that I haven't been a spiritual head. The only times we've ever prayed as a family is when another JW came over for dinner. We never had a family prayer. I've never taught my son how to pray. I've shriked my spiritual responsibilities.

And I don't know how to do it now. I think that I've had subconscious issues with the organization for a long time now, and when I got married I was happy to just consentrate on my wife (and then my kids) instead of God. Now that I see the WT is a sham and I have a new found love of God, I don't know how to do it with my family.

IMHO The most creepy thing is the piano music and the "unconditional love" and "fear" in equilibrium depicted in the yin yang at the end.
