hello it's been a long time since i was here just needed some input please from all loving parents...would you rather your daughter be:

1. married to a guy who's not really that great (history of having lotsa women, irresponsible) but seems to love/like your daughter.

2. be gay (with woman who is quite good, responsible and everything but - a woman...).

what im asking is that if you had the choice....what in your opinion is the best (least detrimental to your daughter) just like..if your daughter wants to be a jw...(maybe if it were your choice you'd rather her not be one)...sorry for asking too much

1.if with guy...maybe can have children...will follow norm and just break up when things dont turn out right

2. if girl, she loves the girl but it is just wrong (condemned in the bible), and u think your child is not gay just influenced by this other person..would u try to straighten her out? like if you feel that your child is being friends with someone who is really really bad like drug pusher/pimp wouldnt u do anything within your power to control? for example..when u before believed in jws u made your children go to the kh and stuff meaning you love them so you'd want them to survive armageddon ..so wouldnt u do same thing if u knew that something is really really wrong(you will try to control)??

3. drug addict - can be cured

4. be alone - not much problems except that there's not much happiness either

Downloading TV shows??

i was just wondering how to go about downloading a tv show from the internet.

it's only because the show i want to watch is a season behind the u.s. and i can't wait for u.k.tv to catch up.. i have tried kazaa which does have the shows but i can never get a download, its all just remotely queing.

and they don't have much of a choice in downloads either, so i just give up!.

Were You Depressed Because You Were A Witness?

it seems that many people here have been greatly depressed because they were or still are jehovah's witnesses.

what about you?

before i knew about the crappiness of the religion, i felt sad because i never was an efficient jw. i tried to be 'normal' in school but in trying to do that battled with my conscience.

when i knew about all the lies, depressing since my conscience was already shaped by the teachings of the religion so it's hard to erase it....and also bitter because of all the sacrifices i had to go through.....nothing major just the little things that a child/youth shouldn't be deprived of.

not depressed at the moment but months ago was feeling really down because of the feeling of being stuck forever in this religion.

i am still technically in. sad isn't it.

here on the pacific coast of australia it's 2:00 am and mrs ozzie and i have just returned from a candle-lit xmas service and it's now christmas day here.

the air conditioners are going flat out and the ocean temperature right now is 22 degrees celsius.

a right royal xmas!

Differences in countries

it's been a while since i've posted - have had an awful lot going on here.

but i have had a very interesting experience and was wondering if any of you that have dealt with jw's in different countries have noticed this.

i'll make it as short as possible.. my father passed away last year.

i'm quite curious as to the differences of jws in various countries. not only in terms of shunning but also as to how 'strict' the rules are being implemented. im from the philippines and i think that more often than not, families are very close-knit which makes me believe that shunning isn't as worse as those i read on this board. but as always it's a case to case basis some families are psycho enough to choose the org before their family members but others are wiser than that.
