Hey hik - I sent you a PM. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there's a scripture that talks about if one mate believes and the other doesn't. The one that doesn't will be saved anyways because the mate believes. I can try and find it if you want...

My Boyfriend's not a Witness...
by Hikaru inalright, with my last post it should be obvious i'm in conflict...if it's not, then yeah.. my boyfriend is not a witness.
he understands that witnesses can't marry or date non witnesses.
but i guess could say we've been stalling...looking for a solution a gray area to that black and white situation...but with time getting as it is...stalling doesn't work anymore.

Turns out, he really doesn't seem to like anything spiritual. He hasn't been to a meeting in weeks. We went out with a bunch of JWs the other night and at the end he told me he was pissed they brought spiritual things up. He said he just wanted a beer and doesn't like it always shoved down his throat...
He believes spirituality is simply the way we live - that's it... Of course, he can't bring himself to come here... He goes to some meetings simply because he has friends there.
He just wants to live an easy life. Nothing dramatic.
I on the other hand, am dramatic. I want to bring the BORG down, lol... But, I will do so calmly, lol... Don't want to stir the hubby up!

Some of you have been like family to me. Yet, it's time that I must say good-bye. I have to say good-bye. My husband and I have chosen to study the scriptures together on two conditions:
1. No religion is involved on our studies.
2. I don't come to this website.
You all have helped me through so many things. You have helped me in my spirituality, in finding out the person I am, in helping me develop a thicker skin (lol), and in letting me work through all that I needed to on my own time table.
I cannot do what it is that I need to do for both me and my husband if I am also here.

Emotional blackmail in this cult sadly works
by troubled mind inlast night my husband and i were out having ice cream @ culvers when we noticed a group of jws coming in after their meeting .. it seemed a celebration for one family.
we saw the father of the family was all dressed up and associating with everyone .
he had da'd himself over 20 yrs ago and has been blacklisted from family and friends this whole time .i guessed last night was his reinstatement to the cult .

JW Defenders- Is WTS Right to Insist You Stay Away From these Websites?
by OnTheWayOut ini read these threads and there are a few that bend over backwards to say why wts is correct on this issue or that issue.. they act like typical jw's that refuse to acknowledge points that may show that wts is not following the scriptures or that wts goes beyond the scriptures in a way that is not supported by others.. the point could be the blood issue or shunning or whether 1799 or 1914 was the start (or finish?
) of the last days or whether there is a faithful and discreet slave class or not.
i don't want to harp on each point.

Web Sites of "Jehovah’s Witnesses": Consider, for example, some Internet sites set up by individuals who claim to be Jehovah’s Witnesses. They invite you to visit their sites to read experiences posted by others who claim to be Witnesses. You are encouraged to share your thoughts and views about the Society’s literature. Some give recommendations about presentations that could be used in the field ministry. These sites offer chat rooms for individuals to connect to, allowing live communication with others, similar to talking on the telephone. They often point you to other sites where you can have on-line association with Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world. But can you tell for certain that these contacts have not been planted by apostates?
When I was a JW this didn't sit right with me. And I'm sure doesn't sit right with a lot of other JWs. And I will tell you why. The only way for the society to know that you shouldn't visit these sites because they are bad is for them to have visited themselves. Even if somebody wrote in about it, how would they know that they are even telling the truth unless they looked themselves
"Well", I thought to myself, "They can visit them because clearly they are stronger then me because they are the FDS." However, I knew that it wasn't the FDS that was writing the material. It was the "other sheep". The FDS, according to my Dad, approves the written material. So, now, according to my knowledge, the "other sheep" were visiting these sites. Didn't make any sense to me.
Unless, I was just not understanding the procedures correctly...

Thanks OTWO...
When I recall what I read regarding the internet, it seemed so right from a certain point of view.
What do you mean?
EVERYONE has this one thought that they bury who is still in as a JW: "What are they so afraid of us seeing on the internet?"
That's a very true point!
The above passage I quoted from the KM is intellectually dishonest, and designed to control people from not examining the JW faith.
I wanted your hubby to see that too....
I'm gonna go back and read that... Be right back!

Even if they are wrong, aren't you running ahead of them instead of waiting on Jehovah to reveal new light for you to come to these websites and "save us" or whatever it is you think you are doing here?
Crap, hope hubby isn't now scared off from coming to this website if he reads this...
If they are right, why are you disobedient?
I think he is simply because he sees that things are wrong but it hasn't clicked with him yet, that's all... I think its the same for most JWs that come here. They know that things seem off and they can't figure out why. So, they are drawn to this site. Even people who post for JWs... Think about it. If you post something for JWs on an apostate site, you are gonna get a bunch of people tell you why you are wrong. Then, it may clarify things for you a bit. So, you post something else for JWs. Again, another clarification. However, if they don't satisfy your answers, you can easily go back to JWs saying they were wrong all along and JWs were right and I stood up for what was right so my conscious is clean... People have a funny way of justifying things in there heads and can make themselves believe a lot. I guess its a way for people to question there own religion and justify it at the same time.
That's why it's important to try remember to respect eachother because we all have our own reasons for doing things. Even if everybody else can't figure it out for the life of them.
