Thanks so much Drew! I'm going to read up on all the info.
Tues - lol, hopefully it's a bit more then that...
i really want to believe it, but, sometimes it is very difficult to figure out how it can be from god.
i mean, in the old testament, he seems horrible in some instances.
the adam and eve thing doesn't make to much sense to me.

Hmmm, interesting Drew. I will check it out. But, the bible does say that it is inspired from God. So, if it was inspired, why does it not make sense in so many instances? Maybe that book will help give me some clarity. Thanks for the link Drew!

Thanks for your comments. Drew, if that is the case, how do we know which books are from God and which are not? Will that link go into that?

The Adam and Eve thing doesn't make to much sense to me. I mean, I would figure that if there was a God, him and Satan would have to be at about equal strength and Satan owns the earth while God owns the heaven, because I can't figure out another way to justify him letting all this suffering take place.
Then, why does he make everything so difficult to figure out in the Bible? I mean, really... To FURTHER test us? Why? Why can't he just state how it is and then let us decide whether or not to go with him? I mean, I know he wants us to be faithful unconditionally, but why torture us trying to figure out what the heck happens to us after death, what he wants from us, etc?
I just don't get it... I've spent so much time trying to figure this stuff out and everytime I think I've figured one thing out in the Bible, 100 more questions pop up...
What are your thoughts about how to justify the bible is from God?
so i have not turned in any service time in four months or so.
this elder, who also happens to be the congregation secretary stops in at my job today.
i work for a cellular phone retailer in my home town, so he came in and conversed for a bit about his plan and different options we might be able to work with.
That's so inappropriate for him to go to your work for that. Would he like it if you went to his work???
i used to post here...a lot!.
just thought i'd say hello to you all...you wonderful people who got out of the jw cult!
i have come to believe that we are an amazing bunch of people - we made our way despite all the odds and fought for individuality - and won.. even today i was told that going back to the hall would solve my problems (by a jw family member) and i honestly can say that i felt amusement.
Hey Sirona!!! Our babies are about the same age! (Mine is a little younger) Isn't being a mom awesome!!!
jackson family to host first christmasmichael jackson's family is to hold christmas celebrations for the first time this year (09) - putting their own religious beliefs aside for the superstar's three children.. the jacksons were all brought up as jehovah's witnesses, a christian-based religion which does not recognise birthdays or christmas.
but the thriller hitmaker deviated from his family's belief system and always enjoyed the holiday season with prince michael, 12, paris, 11, and seven-year-old prince michael ii.
and family matriarch katherine jackson, who has full custody of the kids, is determined to put their former traditions aside in december (09) to keep the youngsters' lives as normal as possible.
Scratch my post - I didn't see page 2 and madmary addressed what I thought...

Blondie - Arn't they separated? I don't know how she can claim the headship thing if they are separated. I think that's stretching it a bit...
in a recent survey carried out for a leading toiletries firm (brut), people.
from detroit and chicago have proved to be the most likely to have had sex.
in the shower!.
Make sure the shower has two shower heads or 1 big one. When hubby and I have done that, he ends up under the water and I freeze. Then, wherever you do it, it seems never to be so your body is under the hot water so your cold and trying to direct the situation to where the nice warm water is and then you finally get under it to now have it right in your face so can no longer even breath...
Would I do it again? Yes, with the RIGHT setup...
i find him very confusing and difficult to figure out sometimes.
evidently, peter did also.
anyways, i find him a bit harsh and unloving in the way he deals with the congregations and i was shocked how he rebuked with peter.
Judas was replaced by Matthias (Acts 1:25-26) Jesus only had 12 Apostles (Rev. 21:14). I view Paul as Jesus did. (Rev. 2 :2)
This is a very interesting point. It is noteworthy to bring out that Paul said in Timothy that ALL of Asia had rejected him. I don't know if he said that before or after he wrote his letter to Ephesus. I believe he was even being tried but I'm not sure what for.
This brings up a few questions that I'm researching right now trying to figure out. It seems that in Acts that God did in fact accept him and give him his spirit. However, at that point Paul hadn't called himself Apostle. It seems that he could have been accepted by God but later disapproved...
So, my question is, could anyone other then the 12 be called Apostles? Is there a general use of the term Apostle whereas the 12 are the one with a special place with Jesus?
