GB Permits Texas Two-Step on Kingdom Hall Stage, etc.
by TakeOffTheCrown inthe governing body not writing their own articles is on this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/370640004/gb-providing-food-helpers-write-articles?size=10&page=1.
but, something more sinister, more serious is taking place in the congregations.
the governing body have allowed very disturbing activities to take place in the kingdom halls and during the conventions.

Advice Needed - JW Grandparents
by What Now? inmy family has been out (inactive no meeting attendance or field service) for just over two years..
weve made many changes in our lives, including with our personal appearances (tattoos, piercings etc) that are a pretty obvious sign that we arent going back any time soon.
our families went through a period of time about a year ago when they made a lot of threats that if we left the truth, they wouldnt even be able to share a meal with us, they would stay loyal to jehovah etc.

I let JW family babysit my girls, ages 6 and 3.
My rules are simple, I don't want them talking about or correcting my child's viewpoints on holidays, birthdays, etc. I also don't want them talking about anything negative such as the big A.
If they would like to talk about God in a positive manner, pray before meals, etc, I'm fine with that. But, if my daughter is scared in any sort of way or repeats something in a negative way, there will be a huge problem. My daughter repeats everything.
My family respects my wishes and so I haven't really had a problem.
The only thing I do have concern with, is that we will be celebrating holidays so I'm sure my daughter will talk about it to JW relatives. That could pose some huge problems but I guess that's just life. Maybe I'll get d'ffed and they won't have anything to do with us.
You really can't protect your kids from unforeseen occurrences, just deal with it the best you can and teach your children proper coping skills. Also, try to make other friends with kids so your kids aren't also so heavily reliant on just a few people surrounding them...

From 1 to 10, how do you rate the value of the Internet in your awakening?
by Hidden-Window inas we all know, the internet is a real game-changer in allowing us to know the truth about the watch tower and its history.
i always had doubts and it was the internet that presented me with the ever-growing number of individuals who were going through a similar struggle.. i give the internet a 9 in my awakening.
what about you?.

1%. The other 8% was me, an annointed brother and my family that's still in. The other 1% to those apostates and worldly's I found over the years that made me think a bit.

As an update, last night something really went off in his head. This is more then JWs, there's something really wrong with him. I called a mental health place this morning and we are going to the emergency room to get him evaluated.

Literally, a text message to my husband from one of his "friends". He also wrote, "it's in her hands. It's her move now. Whatever happens, she brought this on herself. Just do what you know is best. If she fights you on it, who cares, do it anyway. Threaten to tell her parents.
My husbands texts about the elders comments, "Yeah, they also said I have grounds for separation if I needed it. They also mentioned divorce. But to put that in her hands."
He told this friend of his that I threatened to move out of state and take the kids. Really, he's getting me excommunicated so I have no reason to stay here anymore and told him I wanted him to come with me. Also, I wouldn't just take them without making sure it was legal anyways.
Anyways, I'm completely LIVID and don't know what to do. I feel like getting a restrainning order against this friend of his. What an a**h*le... :(

Wow, it's been awhile since I've even read this thread. Thanks for your thoughts Wannabefree. I'm sorry about your marriage. It sucks. Glad to hear that you have been affective with the kids though. What a relief that is!
