Handing out candy
by mikeypants ingrowing up my parents would barricade our home off by parking vehicles bumper to bumper - you would have to crawl under the cars or over the bumpers to get to our door.
also, we would turn off all the lights and hide in the back room away from the street.. that was the norm for me.
isnt that insane?

What more do they need to see?
by stuckinarut2 inso bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.
didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....
oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .

Ignore my dumb question. It was too early in the morning to handle life, apparently. -

For Halloween, can you do that hide and seek game with the candy?
For birthdays, can you do a happy day for your kid?
I have young kids too, I snuck around a lot. Of course, it would cause arguments and him ratting me out. But, it also helped bring things to a head when we saw what tbe other person was willing to do.

Nope, not a friggin JW mom. Apparently, he's being selfish to both her and Jehovah. She said she wouldn't support him and that he can't.
Cripes, what is she going to do when he gets his first boyfriend???
Was having such a great day too til BAM, more JW psycho'ness is brought to my attention... Ugh... Poor kid...

Update on Australian Royal Commission - Proposed Redress
by Pants of Righteousness inapologies if this has been posted previously, but this news item has appeared today regarding the proposed redress for abuse victims following the australian royal commission:.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-27/labor-pledges-payments-for-sex-abuse-survivors/6886864.
what's interesting is that in january it was proposed that the federal government contribute almost half of an estimated $4.3 billion redress scheme.

Simon- You are right. It is annoying and completely unfair for taxpayers having to pick up any portion of the tab. -

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.
