Thank you, I just feel alone sometimes. When I'm being really honest, yes, I'm hard on myself. How can I not be? Especially with being a mom. I didn't have a great example to go by, I'm guessing my way through this, and praying I don't screw things up. Being a mom is everything, and I hope I'm good enough that my kids can use me as a baseline to become better.

Not sure what really to do. Maybe I'm just a warning, to get an outside life; away from the JWs... Idk...

WT Society SEC Records : Hedge Funds, Cayman Islands, Financial Losses - Links
by flipper inso my wife and i were curious so i researched some financial links and found records indicating that the wt society has been operating at a loss since the year 2012. as you read the links it shows a loss of 10 million $$$ in 2012, about 16 million $$$ in 2013, and a whopping loss of 56 million $$$ in 2014 - where the expenditures exceeded the revenues for each of those years in the amount i've mentioned.
also there is a link on this same website with the sec records indicating that the wt society and it's representatives funneled 40 million $$$$ into hedge funds in the cayman islands as early as 2007. if you look online on other sites you can see evidence that indicates the wt society attended hedge fund conferences to look into more shadiness in 2011 and isn't it curious that by 2012 the wt society started showing losses.

John - It just doesn't make sense that they'd have a cash flow problem right now with the sale of so many properties. Something is going on.

Child Discipline, new article to address Jackson's Royal Commission testimony

it includes the relevant part of the transcript, along with a string of watchtower quotes to show that what he presented was not accurate, and that watchtower translates rod as a literal implement to hit children with.

As a side note, it's unbelievable to me how their policies have hurt so many kids, and they get to just lie and act like they didn't promote this type of punishment. I get a lot of parents did it back then, but, pressure from them to enact this sort of punishment certainly exasperated the situation and they need to own up to it. You don't just get to lie because everyone did it back then.

by cognac inmy parents were always of the belief that, "the end is right around the corner".. i was a zealous kid, with a learning disorder, so my parents never gave me a hard time or pushed me in regards to my education.. this not only hurt me, but, pissed me off insanely.
fast forward to me having my own kid.

Yes, she got a 20 on her spelling test and a 44 on her math test last week.
Was she concerned or did she ask for help?
The teacher had me sign her tests. I take that as the teacher was concerned, and rightfully so.
Could you be overdoing it because of your JW experience with education?
Yes
Are her accomplishments directly tied to your feelings of worth as a parent?
If she doesn't do well in school, I take it very hard, even personally. So, in this particular situation, yes. I say that because when she doesn't do well I feel like I've failed her as a mom.

Thank you Dune. She's good with sounds (except for th, wh, etc, alphabet and numbers.)
Last week I thought she was doing great in addition, until she got questions like, "5+_=10".
Learning lesson for me in how to deal with her homework better...
Her spelling test had, "what, with, you, your, then" things that you couldn't just sound out...
I really should have worked harder with her over the summer... Ugh...
