we can now have instant commuinication and know what is going on in the world at any given time.. perhaps its a happy accident that the internet has evolved into a cheap, sometimes free platform for news distribution.
Modern day left liberals love centralization, it allows a select coterie of elites to control information and make policy for the rest of us plebeians.
Decentralized information has helped both liberal and conservative ideas to spread easily throughout the population.

The world is indeed a much smaller place but journalism doesn't seem to follow. How much do we really know about foreign affairs, even if decisions taken abroad impact our daily lives? So, another weakness of the current information age could be the lack of cross-border investigative journalism.

i think most religions have their good and bad points about them.
some religions (most) teach if you're a "bad" person or a sinner who doesn't become "born again", that you're going to burn in hellfire forever and ever!
some religions teach intolerance toward "infidels" or "apostates".
Same goes for religious hatred, homophobia and sexism - all of which most religious organisations are guilty of.
If it were all that crystal-clear, why then do you think most religious organisations are not prosecuted? Due to a lack of law enforcement?

Should an organisation be prosecuted if it bars membership based on sexual orientation? Yes.

the schools minister, diana johnson, has confirmed the plans will be included in a blueprint for a new curriculum to be published in the next few weeks.. it follows a letter signed by scientists and science educators calling on the government to make the change after draft versions of the new curriculum failed to mention evolution explicitly.. if only i had been taught evolution at primary school it might have helped me to realise exactly how much rubbish my parents were spouting.. i would love to know how 'faith' schools are going to get round this?.

ok. (taking deep breath) i am finally at that point in my recovery where i am ready to look at evolution as more than a loose theory which is clearly disprovable by the fact that all the bones proving it could be in a coffin.
or, um, some illustration like that.. i feel like first i have to "unlearn" the jw teaching of evolution to learn what "real" evolution is.
then, learn about that and then see how i feel.
I think evolutionist is mainly used by creationists as a pejorative label.
