Living out their imagination and hatred here, people do .................."
Welp, be glad your time in as JW was uneventful or boring, or whatever you wanna call it. But let me tell ya', knowing what I know now, I CAN look back at it as a "good time". But at the moment, as a devout jw, it screwed me up mentally. Dealing with JC's and feeling like POS and having the fear of possibly being slated for destruction for a few "unholy" or "unclean" acts, fucks with one mentally and don't wish that on anyone.
But of course, these unverifiable "stories" are wildly fabricated as most experiences that many post on here @ jwd dealing with molestation, rape, lack of love, shunning, ill treatment within the congregation, conditional friends, and the list goes on and on.
[sarcasm]Yup-It's all based on hatred....[/sarcasm]

Ran into the JW table at San Diego airport...
by Confession inyes, my ladyfriend and i were entering the san diego airport for our flight home to phoenix late yesterday afternoon, when i noticed a forty-ish man and woman sitting down behind a table loaded with wts publications.
i stopped to glance over them with joy.
i made familiar comments about some of the publications, noting the newer soft covers and trying to casually engage the pair in conversation.

Nothing shocking anymore. Being young and single at the time, I tagged along with some "cool" married couples and ventured into the forbidden territory when it came to loose conduct. It's happened so many times, I started to think this was the norm behind close doors...

If it brought you closure, then congrats! IMO, even giving them a letter DA is too much. But that's me, but if I were you being in your situation, I wouldn't even call back. And if necessary, re-send your letter and beyond that, restraining order!!!

Defence of watchtower society Links
by reniaa ini thought long and hard before making this thread, that many will not agree with it but i think there needs to be balance and people to realise there are alternate viewpoints out there on many of these subjects, the ones that are most spoke about on this forum.
i was recently sent a full message containing mary's book and these links give the rebuttal to many of her points.
those that are still open-minded enough feel free to look over them even if in the end you still don't agree at least you have heard both the defence as well as the attack as they are on the internet.

----Goto the doctors! you sound like you have symptoms of depression and despite what anti-JWs say on here it is now recognised as a serious illness by witnesses.
Voting is technically still a personal choice issue so I think your latching onto it as an outlet for all the strain and worry your goinng through atm. I'm only know a little from people around me getting stressed so goto Doctor describe your symptoms he can help you get to a calm place.----

What a Blessing, they now know it's a valid symptom!!! Praise the Governing Body for truly understanding!!! :/
Ok, enough's enough... I've sit here with my mouth shut and let you get away with some really pro JW comments in the past. I don't care for your kind, and as for the reason why is you can blatantly OVER LOOK the tract record of this cult and minimize the impact of such indoctrination that does cause depression on many individuals. 2nd, Can't figure out what your deal is. Vaguely remember you having doubts but wanting to go back for whatever reason, most likely missing something like friends or whatever, despite being conditional. Lo and behold, your now propagating the same garbage that some are trying to completely walk away from and/or have overcame the fear and depression caused by this cult.
Is jwism not the cause? I 2nd what Homerovah says and call BULLSHIT as well. Voting is a personal choice that EVERYONE has, but you cannot posses it freely as a jw. Period. Don't care how wanna you spin it or how you wanna revise the past ALA Watchtower style, it's something you can't do as a jw. And the cause of Ynots issue is that, lingering doubt and guilt brought on by WT.
Hang in there ynot, it's a tough nut to crack. And yes with time, you'll overcome completely the BULLSHIT programming that unfortunately still have people like reniaa within it's grasp.... -

If you are still active JW, do you enjoy being around JW?

Very few people I enjoyed being around in the JW CULT. For the most part, NO, I never really enjoyed gatherings. Your forced to be in the presence of people you truly dislike and would never give a 2nd thought of hanging out with if wasn't for this cult... Now, family and I just hang out with people we enjoy. :D I'll never forget what one sister told me years ago. "It's better to be around the worse of witnesses, than the best of non believers". That right there, should have rang some bells immediately, but being the impressionable young teenager at the time, all I could do is nod my head in acceptance with her statement. Gah, how awful...

JWs and National Oaths of Allegiance Expose' by Marvin Shilmer-Please Read
by AndersonsInfo inthe following three paragraphs are part of a startling new essay written by a well-respected poster on jwd.
he spent much time and money to gather proof of duplicity on the part of watch tower leaders.
marvin shilmer (not his real name) has given permission for me to put his entire essay on my website, www.watchtowerdocuments.com.

This hits home.
I just went through this and was naturalized about 1 month ago. And no, I didn't take the modified oath.
The events that lead me to walk away from the WT was precisely that, the pledge of allegiance. Over a year and half ago, struggle with concept of being jw and barely attending the meetings, I needed a letter from my local congregation regarding my naturalization and since I must take a modified oath as a jw, this letter is REQUIRED from your local congregation in order to qualify. It's the law...
From the time of requesting and actually receiving an answer it literally took almost 2 months, and this was dealing with my local elders. Keep in mind, the us government requires an official letter from the your local kingdom hall and stating that you're one of the jw's in good standing or still attending. Well after all of that, the PO finally told me that the society no longer writes letters. Say what? In fact, another elder didn't agree with this decision, and personally wrote a letter on my behalf, but since it wasn't from the Society and/or the local KH, it was unacceptable and rejected by the INS during my initial application.
I was actually livid about this, which catapulted me into researching as to the reasons why. It doesn't matter now and in fact had I not been rejected by my own elders, who knows for how much longer I would have to be in the this mess claiming to be a jw.
This essay and with the actual signature from Knorr just solidifies my stance to those who wonder why I hate this organization. Forwarding this info to others as we speak...
