  How Big is Your Hard Drive?

  this is serious...i know many of you are serious computer intells...i am a comp user who knows how to set it up and run programs..that is about it.... i am looking to buy a new comp...soon...i have a 400 mhz, pentium ii...it locks up, gets fatal errors and simply will not do many things that newer comps can...it is 4 years old.

  my question...what type of computer size is best?

  80 gig hard drive, 512 ddr sdram, 1.8 speed?

  After some prior stuff I try and avoid stuff about computer talk here.

  my quick 2 cents:
  - avoid compaq and hp
  - go for the best support there is. Buy a dell. I have switched every machine I own (yes I own a lot of them) to Dell. There is a reason for it - I am tired of fixing broken or faulty machines with unknown or propietary parts (I know the inside of a computer like the back of my hand but its so old to worry about hardware issues).

  The AMD/Intel debate is pointless from noticing real speed differences as a user. My opinion: go with the leader....support.

  What you want is support....support ....reliability...reliability

  The gadget talk is distracting. You can get fancy stuff. But when its broke or incompatible down the line...make sure the people recommending all the gadgets are available to fix it.

  i've argued before in this forum that mark wanted to have jesus seem to be the messiah whose existence he believed--or pretended to believe--was prophesied, foreshadowed, or prefigured, by persons and events found in scripture, so he scoured the writings of the prophets for these stories, and adapted them to fit jesus.

  i believe the striking parallels below show almost conclusively that mark's story about jesus stilling the storm was adapted from jonah, and is fictional.. in jonah, a violent storm threatens a ship on which jonah sleeps, so mark made a violent storm threaten a ship on which jesus sleeps.

  in jonah, the apprehensive sailors waken jonah and question his cavalier attitude toward the danger, so mark made his boat's captain apprehensive also, and had him, too, waken jesus and question him about his seeming lack of concern.

  ironically, we were discussing the watchman who stays awake night and day.. anyway, something was said that made me awaken and pay careful attention.

  george w bush and his right-wings friends are quietly pursuing their domestic agenda while the nations attention is focused on international terrorism.. bush's attacks on women's reproductive freedom continue.. examples;.

  1. on his first day in the oval office,bush re-instated the global gag rule,which takes family planning funds from organizations that even mention the option of abortion to their patients,risking womens lives overseas.. 2. bush has promised to re-visit the food and drug administration's approval of ru-486.and anti-abortion forces in congress have already introduced a bill to limit it's availability.. 3. with the expected retirement of 3 supreme court justices ,including sandra day o'connor,who is often the critical swing vote on abortion rights issue,bush has made it clear that he will nominate the most adamant opponents of abortion and civil rights.. the bush administration is committed to strategies that limit life saving stem cell research,criminalize abortion providers,reduce the availability of birth control and deny funding of health reproduction education in the schools.. what better way to take on the christian coalition and ultra-right leaders and movements,than to use your voice to speak up now!!.

  The abortion debate is a huge display of of stupidity and twisting of fact.

  The two sides never argue over the same issue. One fights for the rights of what a woman can do to her body and the other fights for the rights of the child.

  Until the two sides can be brought to argue over the same point, whichever one it is, this debate will never end and will always spiral into chaos as the supporters of either side "do whatever it takes" to express their fervor to defend their views.

  So while I have opinions on the matter I have realized that it is totally pointless to argue them and I have a greater chance of turning a frog into a princess than winning the argument.

  latelywhen i'm on my computer it will suddenly start making a lot of noise like files are being searched.

  this has benn happening a lot lately.

  i get no warnings of bugs or virises why else besides someone hacking into my computer would that be happening?

  Are Flamers & Atheists More Mature Than JW's?

  are ex-jws, flamers, agnostics and atheists more advanced spiritually and emotionally than fully-active jws?.

  this is how m.scott-peck describes the 4 basic stages of spiritual development.

  personally i can relate to stage 3 quite comfortably, but if i talk to a witness who may be a very devout and religious person i often feel as though this person is dragging me back into a lower stage, generally stage 2. what do you think?.

  speaking personally....

  I don't have a spiritual bone in my body (except the one that jumps up and says "BOO" every now and then I guess). Even though i was raised as a JW I have never had any connection my whole life.

  As a youngster I would think all the people praying were just talking to themselves and everytime I had to pray it felt so stupid. I think I always expected more from God than what we had to deliver.

  So as far as me becoming mystic or spiritual - I don't see it happening. If it does I will look up this post and let you know.

  I appreciate your posts but take issue with this one. As an atheist who seeks proof I ask you for your basis that the sequence of development you opine has any statistically provable basis.

  Or is it just your opinion?
