so often that question is asked.
"why does god allow sickness?
why does god allow hurricanes?
Tallyman
Whats your problem? Why the insults?
i know that the dub's view is that it is totally wrong.
i live in an area where the majority of people think it is wrong.
i don't think it is wrong (but i am not a homosexual).
This question is interesting:
"Is homosexuality wrong?"
I need to understand the question better so please answer my questions about your question.
Who defines right and wrong?
God? Well without getting into a debate as to whether God exists, lets ask "Which version of God - whose interperation of God?"
.....we could go on for hours here and all you have made are a huge number of UPFRONT ASSumptions PRIOR to even asking the question.
so often that question is asked.

I agree look on the bright side....
father, please... forgive me.... dearest jw.com posters... may you all have peace!.
i wish to share something with you that i had no idea of until just a few minutes ago.

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You rearrange me 'til I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
oh man, i just realized something.

what is the true religion anyone have a clue?.
i would love to know, if anyone does have a clue; being a witness most of my life it gave me this feeling like i really was in the true religion and god really was with me cause i belonged to the "true religion.. i have noticed that witness's say the elders were appointed by holy spirit, how do they know did they see it, it just dawned on me that all of it has been based on the premise that i had to have faith in what they say rather then substantiated facts; all of what they say simply put is nothing more then words, contrived by men only, if you tell them this you get the treatment like your going to be destroyed which is paramount to going and burning in hell.
If I was to be religious/spiritual I would pick Tinkerbell worship is the real religion. It is as true as any other - just as Tinkerbell is as provable as any other God.
If you don't like the term religion, then simply change it to Tinkerbell Spirituality.
The only difference between Tinkerbell Religion and Tinkerbell Spirituality is that some think and believe that because it is called a religion now they have to listen to what people impose...Tinkerbell spirituality lets you live according to how you feel at the moment (and you can always find a way to justify it) but still claim a relationship with Tinkerbell.

i swear by my life and my love of it, that i will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.. i own one life -- mine -- in prison or out, in sickness or destitution or whatever else happens next.. human sacrifice is evil no matter who its beneficiary is, whether you sacrifice yourself to others or others to yourself.
man every man is an end in himself.. this god, this one word: i.
Larc - after stage 1 you learn how to count...
FYI Carmel:
Maslow had a few different "models".
His "Educational Theory" consisted of 7 values. His "Hierarchy of Needs" consisted of 5 levels (the one which you quoted)
To arrive at his insights Maslow studied some of the greatest achievers through history. He reasoned that if you want to learn how to run faster, you have to study the fastest runners. In the same way, if you want to know how people can achieve greatness, the key is to study the greatest people. His teachers inspired the inquiry.
Although Maslow mentions Ayn Rand several times in his monumental Motivation and Personality, he was not a "declared" Objectivist. Nevertheless, his ideas are so vital and so closely aligned with Objectivism, that anyone interested in a rational view of human nature would be well served to read his works.
But thanks for the lesson...
Oh - one more thing....the first post in this thread - was written by Ayn Rand
