I've tried it, love it. Met some awesome people on there, some are still friends.
Met a couple of strange ones, but you meet those people anywhere!

further to sebastious first very good video on bloodguilt -.
can anybody post the kingdumb misery saying that the entire congregation is bloodguilty if a brother accidentally kills somebody on the road?.
it seems ridiculous to claim that jehoobie will have it in for all the dubby babies and their parents because of an accident on the road, but there it is.. they say the elduhs should investigate - don't you think the police are better qualified to do this rather than window washers and cracker and cheese men?.
Hamsterbait...
Presumably witlesses can drive as fast as they want, and the Angels will stay in the car for a whiteknuckle ride.
HA! Give em a thrill I say! :-) Nice work. x

These jokers are seriously encouraging their elders to make a call as to bloodguilt in a car accident? What a pack of tossers. If Jesus were real and he decided to rock up in any Western civilisation, he would no doubt choose the JWs as the New Scribes and Pharisees methinks. :-)
along with one of those cream cheese danishes, and a lemon-lime shasta.. know what i mean?.

PS... I have no idea what grits are.

In Australia we had amazing fresh doughnuts... that was WAY back.
I had a major problem with conventions even when I was in.
For a start, any work conference I'd ever been to would run from 9:30am to 3:00pm, then they would have snacks and water available right through the day, a 20 minute morning tea break (food provided), a one hour lunch break (food provided) and a 20 minute afternoon tea (again provided).
I can't believe that these New York cronies considered it Kosher to make parents endure a full 8 hour day with their children for a start. Add in the fact that they banished the prams (at my convention at least) and made it seem weak and unscriptural to go out for a break at some point, and the icing on the cake was when some genius decided it best that they would add the burden that people prepare all their own food for the day.
I guess the faithful and discreet slave aren't made up of the sharpest tools in the shed.
i have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.
most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .
if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.
That is a good point, and directs the topic into the area of why God permits wickedness. Why doesn't God remove pain when a person prays?Christians still find pain relievers more effective than prayer.
"Please remove the blisters from my feet that developed whilst I was preaching your word" - doesn't have any affect though I can see no reason why God should hold out on answering such a prayer.
Well said JW... seems quite illogical when you view it that way.

JW Facts... I love this topic.
One of my favourite subjects!... It's like the birthday thing. Most active witnesses attempt a defence of both subjects only half heartedly. The idea that god answers Brother Average to cure him of cancer, but overlooks Brother Zealous (and all the passengers) in a car accident on the way to assembly drama practice (yes that happened).. it's really such a pathetic argument...

i came up with a new game today - certainly made the meeting pass by quickly.
before the meeting i edited all the elders and servants mobile numbers on my phone so that they would'nt get the caller id up(141 in uk).
then, during the meeting i called them all one at a time.
Oh that is pure genius. Damn, I might even go to another meeting just so I can do that.
strange title, huh?.
the point is that i wasn't "burned" in some incredible way by wts and i don't carry a huge chip on my shoulder from some incredible injustice from wts or the local elders.. i say this because some people have constantly accused me of being really screwed over by my experience because of my comments on others' threads.
i explained myself there for my reasons, but wanted to repeat what those reasons are here in my own thread.. i explained on some post somewhere that i had felt that i experienced "divine intervention" in my life at one time and that same intervention ended my suicide attempt.
Good thread. I have to say also, I had a good life as a witness. I had an awesome group of friends, a happy marriage, was well accepted and had a great social life there. When you don't know any better you can live quite happily that way.
It was after I forced myself to admit my marriage was inadequate and non-fulfilling that I allowed myself to honestly evaluate the teachings. I still remember the moment when I realised it was bullshit: I was sitting at the meeting and I read a scripture that completely sealed the deal for me - It chilled me to the core, and I got goosebumps all over.
I remember feeling trapped.. I was petrified of leaving my support circle, family and friends.. but I knew that there was no way I would ever live a lie.
My strength of belief was more important than my "safe" and "content" life. I've learnt that I should always follow my heart. "The heart is treacherous" makes me laugh now. What a load of bollocks.
(note: i apologize to the internet explorer users.
you probably can't see my first epic fail thread because i used firefox to post.
there's still some kind of glitch between a plugin i'm running, firefox posts, and ie.).
SBC... you feel bad about recording your OWN trial? Please don't. You've done nothing wrong. These men may be well intentioned, but you are completely within your rights to record however you see fit.
Ask yourself, why would it make a difference to them whether you make handwritten notes or whether you record? The only difference is the legalities. By getting shitty about you recording, these men show that they are simply protecting their arses against any legal repercussions. You wouldn't think they'd be so worried considering they have Almighty God on their sides. God's spokesmen my arse.
