... well that's one way of making sure the toilet queues are even longer.
And then you run the risk of bumping into paedophiles .... sorry, that was too sick even for me :^(
No, toilet's are a non-starter.
How about wearing a bowler hat?

How about a show of solidarity...
by Mickey mouse in...at this year's convention for those who are still in?
can we come up with a way of doing something which doesn't identify us individually whilst at the same time shows there are others "of us" there?.
any ideas?.

How come, with all the flip-flopping that has taken place over the years about blood, it is possible to accept some fractions of donated blood. I mean, I don't know of a single witness that donates blood so how is it they can take what has obviously come from donated blood. It certainly seems like a double standard to me.
To my mind it stinks and is typical of how the WTS lives in "the world" and yet is no part of it! Isn't this a Christian maxim? Isn't it better to give than receive?

Why don't Elders who are sick and elderly ever step down?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inin my 35 years as a witness, there have been many elders in my congregation who were old, sick, tired, weak, and could hardly walk.
they had a hard time reading the material, couldn't remember names, and sometimes forgot where they were in their reading material and talks.they never stepped down as elders.. what are the reasons why most never step down?
can they be asked to step down because of age?

Mary Poppins was satanic!
by keyser soze inin their condemnation of entertainment that contains witchcraft or sorcery, most witnesses i know seem willing to give mary poppins a free pass.
no human should be able to do the things that she did.
since she wasn't a worshipper of jehovah, the only explanation for her special powers is that they came from demons.

I let my kids watch it.... I thought it was great.
Then one day our VCR tape became 'demonised' and destroyed itself. No problem. Our JW friends had a copy so we borrowed it. Well, my kids got bored with watching it and went to the garden where I was (it was lovely sunny day).
Eventually, I realised the TC/VCR was still running so I went in to turn it off. Lo and behold, on my TV was a radio controlled (miniature) tank running around a brothel or something. In the place of the gun was an imitation phallus in search of ladies! My kids were around 8-10 so a good job they never saw this bit. I guess it was the "Director's cut" LoL
I challenged my friends and they said they didn't know it was there. It was a clean tape as far as they were concerned. They worked out that they got about 20 of them from their brother-in-law in good faith. It turns out he, in turn, bought them from his own father - an elder! Enough said ......
It all comes home to roost in the end doesn't it! -

Do you enjoy listening to music from another generation?
by JH insome people only like recent music, maybe because they don't want to identify themselves to an older generation.. often, i'll listen and download music that played when i was a kid, and really enjoy it..
-

I mainly ONLY enjoy music from other generations! I do like some modern stuff but I used to play in a symphony orchestra (much to the elders disgust) so I guess I aged before my time!
On the basis of that - the older the better for me.... but I do a have liking, too, for the big-band Glenn Miller type era. My kids always thought they get it out of me through training and drip feeding "good" music .... guess we both failed! -

Ok, so my mom came over today... Part 2
by cognac ineverything was going fine.
i was surprised when she didn't say anything about my confession to my dad yesturday that i didn't believe 5 or 6 billion people are going to die at the big a.. so, anyways, i took that to be her accepting of how i felt.
i told her that it bothers me how they put some awful pictures in kids books like my book of bible stories.

Good for you..... I do follow what happens next in your crusade. Some parts mimic my escape to reality.
Is there no such thing as Doctor/Patient confidentiality over in the US? I thought you guys invented it!
My mother used my depression as the excuse to speak to her DF'd son - expressing the fact I was sick so "I'm only aiding a sick relative".... that sucks actually. -

Mr. Flipper's Conversation over Coffee w/ JW Daughter - Mixed Results
by flipper init is truly amazing the varied emotions i've felt since my jw daughter has been talking to me after not talking to me for 9 months .
" i replied, " i haven't said anything about the witnesses today .
she had told me an elder from my area had given a talk in her congregation 30 miles away , and she told him i have issues with the child abuse scandal.

That's progress Mr. Flipper, and just keep it ticking over.... it'll work out in the end, especially if she has the characteristics and personality of her father!
I'm very fortunate. My daughter still attends and even though I'm DF'd it's never stood in her way of communicating with me. She comes with all the family to visit us (I am living with a lovely lady who will become my wife soon).
Interestingly, she called Monday to say, "Excuse me if go on a rant about your ex-wife". Hmmm - this is HER mother. She's still JW and the kids don't think that highly of her.... go figure!
That is one relationship I'm so glad I got out of! I don't think I'd be drawing breath now if it wasn't for all the things that have caused my life to be so much better than it was. If my mother was to ever met her ex-daughter-in-law again then there'd be a police case! -

Rutherford HAD proof Britain and USA would go Fascist in W.W.2 Wow!
by Witness 007 inhis book "enemies" 1937 p.291 "will great britain and america become fascist under the dominating control of the roman catholic hierarchy?
the scriptures and the facts, appear to fully support that conclusion.....what was the real inducement that caused king edward to abdicate may be better understood in the near future..." {turns out he was right}.
well done rutherford!

I still reckon Rutherford was wrong.
Edward would have done anything to have his beloved Wallace Simpson [even a fake Nazi salute?]. Oswald Mosely created the closest thing to a Fascist organisation in Britain and was severely censured for doing so. It was only Britain's tolerance in a democratic sense that made certain it wasn't outlawed. Tolerated, yes, though never outlawed. The Blackshirts were never thought of highly. Public opinion was most definitely against them. During the war? They were lucky to be spared their lives in some parts of the country.
To suggest that this made Britain a Fascist state is going a long way toward the far-fetched! The King was mainly a figurehead not the governmental authority Rutherford is alluding to here. Which really was another way of distorting things to his own ends. He was rather good at that wasn't he? -
