UK IndependentUK Commission on Child Sexual Abuse possible new, separate inquiry into JWs
by Lostandfound inthe guardian newspaper today reports that the iccsa has received “numerous” reports relating to child sexual abuse among jehovahs witness's, and it is possible they will establish an entirely separate inquiry into these reports.
the government set up the iccsa independnt inquiry into child sexual abuse some time ago and their has been a delay in the inquiry operating as thw role of chair s established.. typo in heading, sorry .

My Old Kingdom Hall being merged with TWO other congregations!
by pale.emperor inthis can only be a good sign.. my old congregation in liverpool has had a lot of money in it's bank account for years.
for a long, long time (almost 8 years) they've been looking for land to build a new hall.
the one they're in now is literally falling to bits.

I helped build that Hall at Ryde - I believe it was third Quickbuild in the Country.
I remember a guy at work saying it was "built over a weekend - if they taken a whole week it would've been a lot better"!

Nearest Hall would appear to be Newport... 7 miles. But the roads over there are pretty narrow and it would be no fun on a Winter's night for the MW Meeting
Especially as it's perched atop one of the highest spots in Newport - they don't know how to handle snow. (Although, it's sited now, right next door to my sister! No excuse for not attending in inclement weather)

another hall at Freshwater.
I put a lot of hours and money into that - as did a lot of others, most of whom could ill afford. I'd hate to think that would be sold off and pay for more Court costs in paedophilia defense trials!

Dutch branch refuses to meet with LGBT rights organization.
by Anders Andersen inin the wake of the anti-gay cartoon, the coc (dutch lgbt rights organization) invited watchtower netherlands to discuss how watchtower is dealing with lgbt people in their ranks.
focus of the meeting would be on making sure lgbt jw feel safe and fully accepted.. today several newspapers are reporting that the branch declined the invitation, stating that they 'can't imagine lgbt jw feeling unsafe.
the branch won't talk to coc, but they might discuss internally with lgbt jw.'.

About 10 years ago he pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a young women. He pleaded guilty to stop a Court Hearing and took a caution as a "First Conviction"

I took the trouble to read this over a couple of lunch breaks... boy! What a bunch of imbeciles. (I need part II)
Anyway, it got me thinking. Aside from the legal requirement in the US to notify if a recording is being made - why not record these hearings?
If you went to any court in a 'civilised' society you would find stenographers at the very least. You can keep notes at a JC so what if you were able to take it all down in Shorthand?
The records in wordly courts are made as a protection to the individual and to maintain some form of justice and is at least seen to be done. The mere fact records are not made at a JC speaks volumes against justice and human rights. I'm amazed they can get away with as much as they do!
It's very true.... the WT takes advantage of every aspect of the 'world's' systems and procedures but never offers the same to it's rank and file - hypocisy at it's very best (worst?).

.Well, that certainly hides the fact that he calculated it by measuring tunnels in a pyramid, then the date was wrong followed with a clarification - the date was wrong because the measurement was inaccurate!
