Well, that certainly hides the fact that he calculated it by measuring tunnels in a pyramid, then the date was wrong followed with a clarification - the date was wrong because the measurement was inaccurate!

this is a report in spanish conerning david splane giving a prayer at a convention.. perhaps someone can translate it better, but google translate gave the following:.
during prayer, should no longer be necessary to bow his head in a mass meeting, as was splane throughout the prayer, head up, down, left and right looking at all tiers, not hiding in the least.. so splane is looking all around at the sudience while giving a prayer?!!!.

from memory (help pls) when jehovahs witness elders report child abuse judicial comittee outcomes to the watchtower they have remit to comment on whether the child victim played some part in the offence.. this despicable question seeks to make the victim a mitigating factor in the sin crime.
well as of today the uk judicial system has laid down a marker that this 'defence' is inappropriate and will not fly.. what the defence said:.
Not one mention of, or reference to, the parents on that form ..... every picture tells a story!

i was approached by an elder about a year ago asking what i am going to do with my large collection of wt literature.
he told me the society had put word out that they were collecting old literature.
i asked him why but he couldn't give me a definite answer.
And yet, there is the counter argument... keep all the old literature in the library in the hope some of those new ones get to want to know that evil history ... just sayin'

There is a permanent JW 'outlet' right opposite my office in Peterborough where JW's present 4 days a week (Mondays most be too traumatic for them). Ever since the recent Newcastle scandal I have been sorely tempeted to walk over with a printout of the newspaper articles and ask their opinion, simply because they can't hide or run away!

...because it's now an art gallery.. it was really strange to have a look around the building and see what they have done with it.
a lot of the old kh features are still there.
they have kept the old platform, it gets used as a music venue on occasions.. i went up on the platform and faced the hall to bring back memories of the hundreds of times i stood there giving talks.. they have quite a few of the old chairs and the magazine/literature counter is still there but it has been moved beside the stage and painted.. all those huge windows have been restored and the place is full of light.. you can see a lot of pictures at their website, they have called it "the berwick watchtower".. the owner asked my wife and i if it was our first visit - hahaha.

Once I got my head around missing forty odd years of having music in my life I returned to playing the trumpet/cornet. I've joined a local brass band which is lucky enough to have it's own band room.... an old Kindom Hall!
I have to admit I had mixed feelings about going in, even though it was never a hall I'd been in before. But, imagine my excitement and sense of sheer irony as we rehearsed a piece which is a medley of World War I marches and songs; imaginatively entitled, "1914". Still makes me chuckle when we play it!

I've heard of Dubs 'confiscating' dubious, apostate literature so others can't be 'misled' if the books were donated to the library with no stipulation that they are not available for loan.
