  I had a make-over!!!

  it was time for a new look.

  when i was in winnipeg i had a hairdresser that was great.

  Have you Overcome Guilt & Fear Since Exiting Jehovah's Witnesses ?

  minimus had a great thread recently asking if any who were witnesses felt guilt as a jehovah's witness.

  thought i would build on that a little dealing with how you have moved on after being a jehovah's witness ?.

  one definition of guilt in the american heritage dictionary is : " self-reproach for supposed inadequacy or wrongdoing ".

  I will go for days without the guilt and fear. Then my mother will say something that more than anything makes my temper flare up. But also she has a way of not saying what I know is on her mind. Like she has heard some of the new K Melodies. One on the ressurection. Well, that started her on how my dad will really miss me when he is ressurected. Things like that really make me mad, but I also hate hurting her. Today, I told her that I did'nt like it when she practically has me dead and buried. She can't read what's in my heart. Then she starts on how close we are to the end. How may more times will we hear that? So, no, as long as she and other people in my family continue to harrass me, I'll never be free of the guilt. I'm not as fearful now because I don't fear dying anymore. And if Armegeddon does just happen to be real and it just happens to come in my lifetime and I just happen to not make it, then so what? If what they say is true then I would'nt have my kids there with me anyway and without them, well I just don't think that's the kind of god I want to worship. I know this is a long rambleing post, but it really feels good to vent sometimes. And know that people on here understand what we are going through.

  "One of" Jehovah's Witnesses

  any thoughts on that particular phrasing?

  personally, i think the wts uses it as another form of mind control.

  by calling the individual "one of jehovah's witnesses," it lends a generic feel to the wording.

  Does marriage work

  in the uk 50% of marriages fail.

  maybe around half of those who stay married are not really that happy.. .

  It traps you! Especially if you listen to the "brothers". Now, I have been married so long that it seems next to impossible to start over.

  So for me , except for it giving me my children, no it has'nt worked in the sense that I have been happy.

  Feeling numb... feeling like I did when I first DAed.

  my dad recently told all the kids that he has terminal cancer.

  he is going to die... could be in a month... could be in a year.. all the kids recently visited my parents over last weekend.

  i was allowed to come too due to the "family business" clause in the wts rules.. yesterday i cried... i'm still crying a bit today and am feeling numb.

  Elsewhere,, Please remember that all on here care for you and really hate what you are going through. I lost my Dad to cancer almost 13 years ago and it is very hard to deal with. And then with the religion thing and work. But you will survive and things will get better in time. Hang in there friend. Don't give up!

  Birthdays

  for those of us who were not able to celebrate birthday's growing up, do you find that in adult life you put a lot of emphasis on your birthday?

  it's personally my favorite celebration, second would be thanksgiving but really only because i'm a sucker for lots of turkey and booze lol.

  seriously though, since coming out birthday's have surprisingly become a very sacred thing to me.

  I'll have my birthday on the 20th of this month. And I'll probably have a party at work. But after not celebrating birthdays for most of my life, I find it kind of embarrassing when they sing "Happy Birthday". But I still think it's fun and am sorry my kids missed out all those years.

  Oh yeah! Felt that way when I was going to the meetings. Especially towards the end.

  And now, sometimes at work I feel that way because I have'nt made many friends yet. It gets kinda lonely.
