chanced upon this website a few days ago, and perhaps spent most of my waking hours (since then) reading, and certainly identifying with, quite a lot of it.

i have also learned a few things i was unaware of - i know this is ''old hat'' to all of you, but i wasn't aware of the un ngo thing.. i was saddened reading many posts - mostly trying to get human compassion (from elders who hold the trump cards - dealt by....?).

i read with interest josephus's post no.313, and goldminer's 1st posting - both drawing attention to how lives have been wasted due to false prohesy - and i thought (after reading how the society is claiming compensation for surviving - or dead!

the lord butts in and goes bi-polor on moses ass and tells him he's gonna kill his sorry arse cuz moses kids dinger still looks like an anteater and the lord wants then damn thing snipped off pronto or he's gonna kill em!

As for Moses and the foreskin problem. Would it have been better to send Moses to tell Pharoah to listen up and fly right when Moses himself had not done so? If the Bible record said that Moses had failed to circumcise his child but Jehovah told him, "Hey, that's okay Mo baby you're my fave guy and I'm gonna let you and your son off on this one. Now go tell that rat Pharoah if he doesn't listen to me I'm gonna kill his son," then a charge of favortism and hypocrisy would be the discussion here. Before Moses went to tell Pharoah to listen to God, he himself also had to listen to God. That's all.

what would be you're response to that question?.

consider that they are just human and have the same paternal instincts as most people do, the desire to be a mom & dad, to hold a lil bundle of joy, or to nurse and care for a child etc their doctrine and faith is one of honesty and trust and will install in a child the values of keeping the law, avoiding such things as drug abuse, theft and harming others.. .

I think JWs who want to adopt should be judged by the same standards as other would be parents. If they qualify they should be allowed to adopt.

we can't possible compare in its wealth.

yet i believe it is more than possible by pointing out just a few of the wtbts errors of doctrine and policy to bring down this legalistic, fanatical, organization.

What was Judas' motive for betrayal?

not getting into any specific bible scriptures, just thinking about jesus and his friends all hanging out when judas decides to betray him.

what would the motive be?.

do you think that judas was really that hard up financially and wanted the money?

the "composite sign" given by jesus could relate to many centuries in the past, and will no doubt fit many centuries in the future.

it's by no means a "fingerprint", as religions (especially dubs) will have it.. now, if you were in jesus' shoes and were to give an ummistakable sign, what would it be?

i find it hard to beleive that one needs a certain formula to follow in order to pray to god.

any formula you find got to be a human invention.

it is hard for me to imagine a god that is so petty that he won't answer a persons prayer unless they follow with the ending "in jesus name" come on that sounds crazy.

The Watchtower misses the whole point. It is the meaning of Jesus' name that is relevant. Not the saying of the word itself.
