Would you rather see the WTS move mainstream or just collapse in a heap?
by ThomasCovenant inmaybe eventually the wts will adapt and change and try to go mainstream.. as 'new shite' shines brightly then;.
maybe eventually celebrating birthdays and even christmas will be 'allowed' without too many repercussions.. maybe eventually the 'blood' issue will fade away and 'brothers' wil be allowed the whole lot of fractions together at the same time.. maybe eventually disfellowshipping and particularly shunning will be seen as unloving and done away with.. personally i would rather this wouldn't happen.. i would prefer to see the wts collapse in the mire even with all the emotional fallout there would be to those still in having their crutches pulled away from them.. i don't want the wts to modify and adapt and go more gentle on the rank and file.. i want them to get more harsh with the brothers.. i want it to go down, not along.. am i being too cruel to those still in?.
would the more loving caring attitude be to hope that the wts changes for the better?.

Idea of respecting the Governing Body is just a Satire.
by Leprechaun inevery time i have ever heard them give a talk at an assembly i had the feeling those in attendance were sub-consciously worshipping these loons.
i felt squeamish each time those in attendance would applaud to each and every shuffle of his white shoes and changing of his hips while he barked of his platitudes and wonderment at all their accomplishments in patterson or in some other building complex.
how come i could see right off they were nothing more than shysters, but it seemed nobody else in that whole dam arena could but only me?

I was raised a Witness and hung around it for forty years of my life, looking back I see how much I lost of my own ability to choose for myself to do this or that for myself, because to be a Jehovah’s Witness you have to accept someone else’s ideas (I don’t mean scriptures and god views) rather than your own, you become afraid to function in your family life, or in social situations all out of fear of displeasing the GB and / or (elders) and risk being called on the carpet over an infraction of some manmade rule. I am pretty sure that all Jehovah’s Witness feel like this it’s just that some have more stamina concerning it I guess than I did. If you have to believe something similar to the Witness’s, then I suggest the Bible Students, they don’t find the need to control every facet of your life under the pretense or representing god.

Sisters prohibited from beinng called on to pray during meetings.
by Leprechaun ini must say that the witness idea about women not being allowed to pray out loud in the congregation is just bunk, the bible students let their women pray all the time, i asked them why they do this in light of the witnesss not doing it, he said do you think the prayer of a women is any less important to jehovah god.
i must say again the witnesss strain at the nat and seek to pervert basic teachings of gods word when they give their reason that prayer whhen a sister is doing it is a "form teaching.
" ( and your point?

Tell the ''Governing Body'' one thing that you've always wanted them to know!
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe only reason you have total control over all of your members is your false ''faithful and discreet slave'' scripture.
this scripture was applied only for your benefit.
without this scripture your whole religion would fall..

Instead of being submissive to God alone, JWs are submissive to the Governing Body of the Watch Tower (or Watchtower) Society. Criticism and debate are prohibited and classified as apostate, demonic, pornographic. They equate questioning of the organization with Satan’s rebellion against God, while actually accusing the questioner of hubris! Amazing. There is no discussion of how this Governing Body actually gets its direction from God, but to question them is to question God; it’s unthinkable for the average JW to do so.
For all their “anti-worldly” talk, the Watchtower Society has built a lucrative publishing empire with a dedicated sales force of unpaid associates - an unquestioning set of followers to spread the memes.

No shit! I have a brother in law bless his heart goes to meetings even though he is dying from cancer and is taking KEMO, and most of the time he still goes to the meetings, that isn’t commendable or “well spoken of” it’s just plain stupid. 2009-04-29
