New Aussie Blood card released last night= It will make you sick! Shocking!

my wife was invited by her cousin to come back to the meeting on tuesday since she had not been to one for over a year.

the reason?

"there's going to be a special anouncement regarding blood for all publishers, you should come!!

As someone outside of the Borganization I had never heard of the blood issue. Then when my husband started his studies with Them I started taking note of everything I saw or heard about the Witnesses. One of the first things I saw (that really got me wondering: what the hell is wrong with these people?!) was a news article about a boy in Florida. He had died after being granted (by the court system) the right to refuse a transfusion. I can't seem to find it now (I carried it in my purse for months, wondering how a religion could convince a CHILD to sacrifice his life...and WHY would they want that?!) but he had Lukemia, I believe. The article did not line out the Witness blood beliefs, only said that he was a Witness. I think the point about the Jews is a good one. Bizzare. -Potential

Lurkers and Newbies..please read appendix 1-D in the NWT Fraud Bible....

you will see two major things in the reference bible.....1-that the inspired word has been changed....altered by satan and apostates...they took gods name out of the greek scriptures....check the insight book under jehovah and you will find that there is not a single ancient manuscript in the greek scriptures that contains the divine name.

2- you will notice that appendix 1-d tells us that they have "restored" the divine name in the greek scriptures where it was quoting from the hebrew scriptures.

there is no manuscript support for doing this, but what is worse is that they don't tell you they have also put it in the nwt wherever the hell they feel like it!!

Thanks for the tip, Oompa. Husband and I were studying one day, the topic of Jehovah came up (as it does MUCH too frequently these days), and I noticed that all the passages that referenced His name were in the OT (we were using KJV Bible). I had heard that JW's had inserted the name into the NT, but wasn't sure how many times it was actually used in the KJV NT. NONE! He tried to find it, but couldn't. Of course the argument was that the translators had taken the name out, that supposedly in the original transcripts the name was used over 70 times, but only a few of those made it into the Bible we use today. What say you? I know it can't be true, but it's hard to argue when the reference is to ancient manuscripts written in a foreign language....

Paradise Earth????

i know there has been a previous thread on this topic, but in spite of backing up through many many past topics i couldn't find it...can anyone explain this to me, please?

i mean, obviously the promise is that after being denied entry into heaven because they aren't one of the 144,000 the great crowd is stuck on earth, but it's somehow re-made into paradise?!

is there any scriptural support for this notion outside of the nwt?

Caljuher- interesting that you'd mention Assembly of God...it was one of many churches my family attended as a child. I was pretty young at the time, but from what I remember they are pretty close to the dubs: there were always racks of religious tracts outside the sanctuary, and the emphasis seemed to be on end-times. Thanks for your reply.

Honesty- I completely understand how you'd want to forget. That is why I so appreciate all of the responses I'm getting. I have been lurking around, and read many posts by ex-dubs that express how deeply painful their experiences inside the organization and getting out have been. Thanks for your honesty.

okay, so i've seen the first boring part of the dvd singing the praises of the wts for their wonderful literature and dedication to distributing it in hopes of enlightening the masses.

now gearing up to watch part 2- "our whole association of brothers" -or something like that.

i plan on taking notes regarding questionable beliefs, etc.

Kurt: You rock! Thanks so much. Turns out it wasn't the intro dvd, but a different one...but I'm sure we will get to the intro next, so good to know what's coming. The one I watched also seemed kind of boastful, and I was able to raise a lot of questions just by watching it. Anyone else? Stilla are you around? I figure you might have some insight on this...

Hermano- Thanks for the JW argument...those guys can twist anything!

Burger- I guess the idea of going to heaven is important to Christians because it's HEAVEN. We will be with our Lord, serving him for all eternity in heaven. Who wants to stay on earth?? Been there, done that!

JWfacts- thanks for the imbed, and the info...I had no idea the dubs actually believe that the New Testament is only for the 144,000- WOW! That blows my mind!

Okay, so I've seen the first boring part of the DVD singing the praises of the WTS for their wonderful literature and dedication to distributing it in hopes of enlightening the masses. Now gearing up to watch part 2- "our whole association of brothers" -or something like that. I plan on taking notes regarding questionable beliefs, etc. I'm asking y'all to help out with some clues as to what I should watch for and pick out for discussion with my husband who is studying with the JW's and still hasn't ruled out joining. 2050: Jesus = key heaven/salvation = door Proplog2: I'd almost rather see him join anyone else than the JW's. Or none at all. In my opinion you don't have to be a member of a religious organization to be a Christian, you only have to accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior, and attempt to live your life as He instructed. Like I said, I'm a newbie, I have no idea how the rankings are established. BTW, going back to your first post if you'll notice my avatar is a peace symbol. I've never killed anyone and don't advocate violence in any form. Peace and Light to you.

Thanks for all the info! I really didn't mean to get into the baptism issue that heavily, but I'm just trying to find out everything I can about the organization. I don't know what my opportunities for bringing the real truth out to my hubby will be, so I need to know everything. The book I read (20 questions Jehovah's Witnesses can not answer) really made it seem like Jesus was the key to the whole difference between JW's and Christians. The book was written by a fellow who was "in" for 30 years, along with his wife. I have to say it was somewhat helpful, but poorly written and the 20 questions are really more like 10 or 15 because several of the questions are either one question asked in two parts, or the same question asked in a different way. Proplog2- what is your problem??? Pardon me for not being an emperor like you, I'm just a newbie trying like hell to gain knowledge so I can save my hubby from being sucked into the pit of lies that is the JW's!
