So did you have any bro's or sis's in your Hall that filed a ton of LAWSUITS to get MONEY?
by BonaFide inhere in the states, some jw's are really into this.
i am not talking about a valid lawsuit regarding an accident.
i am talking about multiple lawsuits.. we had one sister that had 3 lawsuits going on at any one time.

My experience with the Bethel Legal Dept. regarding a Ministerial Servant molesting a boy
by BonaFide inthe experience that follows contains some details that some might find graphic.
so be warned.. the body of elders received word that an unmarried ministerial servant, age 20, had been seen fondling a younger male bible student, age 14. the ministerial servant himself had been studying with the boy.
the ministerial servant was a quiet, timid brother.

This is all pretty shocking really, but the actions of the mother are even worse...
1> Scolding? What the heck is that?
2> Why would she not sit down and talk with him to what actually happened? How many times has this happened, and has there been anyone else before. What are his feelings towards the same sex. Hard as it may be for some I would want to know if my son was gay. The mental anguish they will go through growing up needs to be addressed.
3> Why would she want the servant even near her son and to keep studying with him, really blows my mind.
4> And going to the police would be foremost, she's burying her head in the sand to what just happened. What if the boy is not gay? Now he has a lot of trauma to deal with.
I guess all this kind of stuff really bothers me, I have a sister who went through pedophile issues against her child. The reactions from elders and Bethel appalls me....

My brief respite
by silent ini have been so worked up and worried for years about the end and armageddon that i have headaches, depression, and all kinds of maladies.
been having troubles with it since 4th grade and nothing seems to help.
just being at the kingdom hall is mentally taxing, just anything jw is mentally taxing.

When I was young the fear of Armageddon was so great that I felt never good enough that God would allow me in his paradise.
The rules made life hard to constantly measure up to, most of the rules for young are about having friends, dress and grooming.
Being that my father was not a jw, most kids would not associate with us, I felt all alone most of the time and secluded from the other kids
who would have sleep overs and hang out on the weekends. I gravitated to friends I made at school I was accepted for who I was. Yet I still
feared Armageddon I thought I would die before I ever had a chance to get married and have children.
It takes time I think to finally reach the conclusion that God is more merciful than we can ever imagine. It is by keeping an open mind that
understanding will come. Thinking for yourself, reading what ever you can, reading experiences here on the forums is a real eye opener.
The worldly friends I had I felt the same way when I was at their houses, warmth and love, pictures all over, they had something that is missing in
a lot of family's I know. What it is................they do not live with fear and guilt.
Fear and guilt robs you of precious life, you still believe in God so remember that he is suppose to be a loving God. He is your friend and support for
all the times you need comfort. Don't fear the future, live your life your young. God will be a lot more accepting than anyone can ever imagine.

Sylvia
No, I think for the most part everyone gets a long well. I love everyone here....some are silly some are serious but I think the more you post people get to know you better. Seeing the consistency in your posting, the way you talk and answer tells a lot of about who you are as a person. Sometimes you just click with more than others and its not that you dislike the others, its perhaps you have not really gotten to know them... hope4others

We Were Just Shunned By A Old Friend Who Was Just D'FD Herself For..
by Lady Liberty inhi friends.... just went to the grocery with my husband and about ran right into a old friend of ours that i have known since we lived in a little one horse town in minnesota when i was in 2nd grade, (32 years ago!!).
i looked at her and she immediately turned her head but kept trying to peak at my husband and i two lanes away through the magazines.
i waited for her to look at me and when she finally did and had eye contact , i started to smile a friendly smile at her and she looked away quickly.
