some of the few pleasant memories as kid being a dub and going to the D/C as a kid, even remembered the International Conventions, including 5/6 long and evening sessions sitting in the old Twickenham Rugby ground, that old ,dirty dusty ramshackle stadium,(now a state of the art complex), remember the sizzling bacon baps smell as you approached the stadium, and the stench of the awful stewed coffee brewing in the large urns awaiting to be supped,yes days were a happy then, until the awful,hard line, tossers that gained control of the G/B from the early 80's onwards

by cabasilas ini remember reading years ago the book "the inside story of jehovah's witnesses" by w.c. stevenson.
it was a book written by a former british circuit overseer who was then out of the movement.
i believe it was published first in the u.k. under the title "1975--year of doom.

Gleaning at Bethel
by Black Man inwant to see bethelites act like greedy scavengers?
just check out the tail end of bethel family breakfast, lunch or dinners.
for those not familar with this phenomenon, gleaning was when bethelites could basically bring their tupperware dishes down and store up on the leftover meals once the family was dismissed (usually by prayer, except for the bethel dinner).
