Which bible character do you hate the most?
by Bonsai inthe more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.
he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".
he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.

I'm going for the so called creator, detest it, hate it with a vengeance, a repulsive, bad tempered, almost perverted lust for bloodshed, stubborn, spoilt like a child, petty, stupid, pointless, envious, jealous, bad planner, never thought things through, lacks common sense and logic, yes I hate it/him/her or whatever it is, give me the devil any time. -

I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah
by cofty inlistening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

How to handle invites to dinner after Sunday meeting?
by FadeToBlack ini have not been to a meeting for over a year.
yesterday, when my wife returned from the 1 day assembly, i got an invite for dinner next sunday.
i said i would think about it, to be honest, as nice as the people are, it would just be boring listening to their comments about everything jw.

its difficult, even after my complete fade, inactivity, zero meeting attendance etc my wife would still want to have dinner parties around our place with only dubs there, it got to the stage when I would say that I'll go out for the evening if you invite them around, I'd refuse to go over to any of their places, I kind of felt sorry for her though. -

The Stupidity of the "Preaching Work" ...
by Muddy Waters inthis came up in another thread and i wondered if any one else thought this way while they were still in..... - that it is actually better not to preach as people who don't hear "the truth" are said to be given a resurrection rather than the poor saps who refused a paltry magazine and now merit everlasting destruction..

the most criminal waste of time I ever engaged in ever, the second was on quickbuilds, the leaders obsession with thinking it keeps the R&F busy and "in tow" is totally blown apart as it develops so much apathy even among them. Your second sentence makes perfect sense if a thing possibly could in their distorted world.I never did it but the countless reports I still hear of ex dubs like ourselves of not even pressing the doorbells just goes to show how pointless it always was, I used to wish that no one would answer though, towards the end of my life as a dub I would just pretend to go out and would head to a local diner or cafe. An often used illustration I would always speak about or go over in my head would be to conduct a survey in one of the most busiest parts in my capital city, a very busy railway station, an airport, a shopping area etc and ask the masses of the general public what is The Kingdom of God that the Jehovahs witnesses have been preaching about in the UK for over 100 years, the guaranteed response is that the only thing they know about jw's is that they dont take blood, dont celebrate Christmas or birthdays, and now cover over a paedophile scandal, you can be sure that the masses of the British public's stock answer would be very similar, the UK's population is 64 million, a pathetic attempt in spreading a life saving message indeed. -

EPIC!#%* NOVEMBER 2015 WT VIDEO "Welcome Home My Friend, Now Your Life Can Start Again"
by NoMoreHustle inwell i just watched this "epic" video, i would have to say this is probably the most disturbing video yet.
there campaign to get people back is just pathetic in the most mind-manipulating way.
"welcome home" or "come back home" are they serious?

the simple fact is they haemorrhage members like no other group and they know its hurting them, pulling these heart strings might have the complete opposite effect, come back to a cult that protects paedophiles? lies about its UN membership, kicks hard working folks out on the scrapheap? Er no thanks. -

JW Broadcasting: The Life of a Special Pioneer
by Gorbatchov inwe have now a special announcement of brother splane, a member of the governing body.. today, we are proud to announce a new kingdom melody: the life of a special pioneer.. that's nice isn't it?
<applause>.
we all are thankful that the governing body is cooking up what jehovah is serving.

a life of a special pioneer, will soon be queuing at the Welfare/State Benefit Centre trying to claim any benefits they think they could be entitled to, shopping at Walmart/Aldi/Lidl, and missing their own congregations meeting while a Local Needs talk is read out so that the local cong can help contribute some more, more more, sadly the next part will be sitting in a doctors waiting room waiting for a prescription for anti depressants. Serving jeehovah all these years certainly did suck. -

a real mixture of emotions most positive, I like you started with Franz' work ( ISoCF) first for me and I couldn't put it down , I would ride off in the car ,park up and just read it for hours, the dark years of my miserable life as a Dub which culminated in really hitting rock bottom in 1994 seemed more and more distant and as I moved on with my life alone and starting a new job, moving to a new flat these were big upheavals in my life but I felt so much more positive as I found a new chapter in my life, it was so self healing, I've never once looked back , the years of shunning and being isolated were made more easier to cope with also, an inner strength I would never have been able to muster as a dub. -

Bethel layoff question
by CookieMonster inhi,.
with the layoffs of bethelites and special pioneers, does anyone know if they get some sort of "redundancy" payout?
.

I would have thought if you get nothing after serving in the USA bethel you'd be getting nothing in other Bethels worldwide. -

Cart witnessing! Dose this mean more accessibility to apostates?
by joe134cd ini don't know if this has been talked about before but do you think that cart witnessing has made the r&f more accessible to apostates.
why i say this is because if you think of the d2d work the only way that i could make contact with a r&f member would be if they knocked on my door or i was fortunate enough to see them walking down the road, stopped them and began talking.
if it was known that i was an apostate my address would be recorded and no further visits made.. however with the carts it is a completely different story, and it is much harder to walk away particularly in a busy street in the full view of the public.

very true , I've had numerous chats with them at the cart. from busy train stations and shopping areas in London to frequently speaking with them in my local town centre, although they know who I am now, I've spoken about subjects ranging from UN membership, to time of the end and the RC and continuing child abuse cover up , when they direct me to jwdotorg I always tell them that the strange thing is that their website doesn't mention those subjects, the R&F dubs would probably had no idea about these issues had they not seen me on these occasions, the absolute surprise on one guys face when I mentioned their UN membership was a picture.
