Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation

my mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.

so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.

nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

i had to clear space in my shelves for new books that keep arriving.

so... out with the "old light"!

we got rid of all spares and duplicates and only kept one of each for the sake of memorabilia.

it seems unbelievable but turkey (a nato member state) shooting down a russian jet fighter on their syrian border seems to be "meh" news and no one is too bothered about it too much.. the world seems a bit upside down right now.

i don't think a lot of countries really know who the hell they are fighting and who is and isn't on their side in it all and really what is going on.. smaller incidents than this have led to major conflicts in the past but hopefully calm heads will prevail.

china shot down a us spy plane years ago and the world survived and forgot about it so things will move on i'm sure.. i'm guessing the price turkey pays for their gas supply from russia will be going up soon though.. man, that republican primary is sucking all the news attention from the room.

pathetic, embarrassing , a joke, the worlds "clutching at straws" come to mind, how many more fulfilments can they get out of it? they lose more credibility each month they release these stupid videos, their embracing modern technology is not working at all for them, they would be better off not saying anything at all.

last sunday i visited a hall to see a friend.

the brother giving the talk spent the first 20 minutes talking about how bad the world is and then the next 10 minutes he pointed out how god's kingdom is the answer.

one thing he mentioned is all of the millions of starving children in the world and how the money that we spend on just a few bombs that are dropped in the wars could feed thousands of children.

I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide

my middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.

our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.

he hung himself.

so i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .

i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.

and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

I always thought it was one of the most pointless stats counting unbaptised publishers as publishers because when they get baptised they haven't created anything new at all they've just come from another list, the R&F are starting to realise this, their decades of boasting obsessionally about how great their growth is has clearly started to to bite them, experts like us scrutinise this data, you cant keep being creative with stats and accounting forever , we also have lists of other stats they dont publish; the amount of hours its takes to gain one single convert, currently 7500 hours!
