The JW Spin - why governments and opposers should let jws handle abusers themselves
by Robo Bobo ini came across this blog - it is one of the evilest things i've ever read.. http://dismythed.blogspot.com/2016/02/flip-side-news-opposers-want-ex.html.
you might not want to click on it because a) you'll give it more traffic and b) it will make you mad.
in summary it states that since only 11-17% of molesters are repeat offenders, witnesses guilty of abuse should be dealt with inside the congregation as long as they confess.

I have a question.
by DATA-DOG inaccording to jwism, god didn't cause suffering, he just allowed it.
wow, that's really, really, dumb.
to help humans out, jeehoobidoob provided the ransom.

the almighty decided to allow suffering for his good reasons?
do you know what they are? or have any idea or clue? or are us poor mere innocent mortals still stuck in the middle of a dick waving competition with him and the Devil? aren't we all a bit tired of it now?

I've left a comment on this blog and surprisingly he responded, the usual pathetic excuses though, although he failed to address the UN membership -

Do the GB want the JW religion to fail?
by Grey Goose inbasically what the thread title says.. do you guys think the gb want the jw religion to fail?
of course failing in the ultimate sense is just not going to happen.
no matter how bankrupt they went, there is always going to be a percentage that holds on.. but downsizing the membership?

agree with Mephis , whatever model or mode they find themselves in would have been from delusion and complete incompetence, since when have they done anything that smacked of logic and common sense? their business model stayed almost unchanged from Knorr's presidency in 1942 to a couple of years back when jwdotorg was formed over 70 years ago, it will cough splutter and plod along for a good few years still. -

Ten years out.....
by snare&racket ini'm not sure how useful this post will be, but i feel compelled to write it.
with many of my older posts, i wrote them with a younger jw version of me in mind.
with this i write it with a younger newly ex jw in mind.. ten years ago i went to my presiding overseer and told him my concerns about wt owning 'rand cam' military stocks, about unfulfilled prophecy and human error in the governing body and the theocratic consequences of such.

great post, well done for getting it off your chest and a good insight for all to see, I was a born in also, and spent a few years of my adult life in the cult, we take these years of being in a cult to our graves there is nothing to stop that, and agree with your point about socialising , I enjoy going out and meeting new people but it just doesn't seem to happen much at all but I also like my own company, but a life of freedom since leaving this toxic, evil group has been worth it. -

Jehovah's Witnesses: A Clear Decline
by Hadriel init is rather clear that the internet is to put it mildly, wrecking the world of the watchtower bible & tract society.
if not for foreign language i doubt there would be much growth at all.. digital trends and analytics are very real.
i live this analytics world i assure you to some degree you can take it to the bank.

its interesting in the coming decades to see how far Islam will have grown, there is no doubt it is the fastest growing belief system on the planet but will there be new secular Islamic country? I dont see it because although Christianity is suffering in regards to making brand new converts atheism is growing at a vast rate as well, also I've noticed mainly in Europe is that there seems to be very few from the indigenous countries populations converting to Islam, in the circle of people I've ever known in my entire life I knew one girl that converted and that was because she met a Muslim man also the Muslim populations see's people leave the faith as well, does anyone see any vast change in this scenario? -

Damn it feels good to be free and on my own without the pressure to do more as a JW slave
by No Longer a JW Brother ini don't know where to begin but damn it feels so good to be free of mind control.
i'm only officially out since this past december but i was out mentally for two hot years under the close watch of my batshit crazy psycho parents who bothered me every sunday to see what i thought about the meeting.
it was necessary for me to lie through my teeth.

Do you still believe in God?
by FormerlySandL ini never thought i would admit it, but i don't.
i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.
as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

What's the point?
by punkofnice ini mean, i don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?.
since i left the watchtower cult, i have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...and if a god exists...god is indifferent to humankind as the least.. in 100 years time i'll be gone.
kaput.

there's no point certainly none for an unbeliever , but even no point for a believer in a 100 or so years I believe most contemporary groups/cults and sects that have their foundations from the 18th century onwards will cease to exist, their timelines and doctrines will completely run out or steam or have any credibility whatsoever, we hear it and see it written many times, "religion is a snare and a racket"
