How many do you figure are converted through the door to door ministry?
by HereIgo ini regular pioneered for 2 years and never have actually converted anyone through the door to door work, in fact, i only knew a few individuals that joined this way.
most were born-in or at least had some type of family influence.
i had several bible studies but they all got cold feet when things got serious and potential baptism was discussed.

How much do you think the internet has hurt JW growth?
by HereIgo inthe internet is what helped bring me and so many others out of this evil organization or at least confirmed our doubts.
i have to say, i have seen quite a few youtube videos recently of ex jw's secretly recording their interactions inside of different congregations, halls, etc and see how empty the halls are!
so many people comment on how the attendance is so low, far more emptier than when i was in 6 years ago, even on a weekday meeting.

Half Banana ; love that experience, that sour face old hag was probably a real "foot in the door" merchant back in the day, did you get the chance to explain to her that the very organisation you are representing trying distribute for have embraced the "internet" in a way that would have seemed unthinkable a short time ago? and the fact you would have been forced to purchase an electronic device too.

Voyager 1 & 2 40th Anniversary of their Lift Off
by smiddy3 infourty years ago nasa sent two probes that were to go on a mission ,voyager 1 and voyager 2 in two trajectories through our solar system getting what information they could from the planets they passed close by.. 40 years later they surpassed all expectations and are still sending signals back to earth.. voyager 1 has actually gone into what is termed interstellar space that is it has exited our solar system free from the constraints of our own sun having travelled some 13 billion miles from earth.
voyager 2 which was on a different trajectory will soon itself leave our solar system and go into interstella space having travelled some 11 billion miles from earth so far.. both of these satellites/probes carry messages from the world of humans / governments to whoever might find it (alien life forms ) if they exist and find these probes.. my attention is drawn to the bible account of the tower of babel which really couldn`t have been that high seriously.and yet jehovah god felt threatened by what man could achieve if they had one universal language ?.
what must he be thinking now i wonder ?.

another blunder from the creator of the universe with The Tower of Babel , I wonder how a supreme intelligence has so little foresight and vision, the original sin form the first man; failed, fallen angels impregnating humans; failed, The Tower of Babel; failed, and the releasing of the devil from the Abyss; a guaranteed failure. I wonder why theists dont see a pattern that has emerged?

JW critically injured after being electrocuted in assembly hall
by Anders Andersen ina newspaper reports that in bornem, belgium, a jw volunteer was critically injured after being electrocuted:.
bornem - a man was electrocuted while performing maintenance on a high voltage installation in the assembly hall of jw in bornem friday afternoon.
the man was critically injured.. possibly the man, who is a volunteer with the jw, tried to clean the installation with a vacuum cleaner.

surprised there hasn't been more incidents like this over the years, I'm sure there has been though, their blatant disregard for H&S over the years on their construction projects bordered on lunacy, I recall one incident on The Surrey Assembly Hall site of a sister turning up and working all day in high heels, the keys to the dumper trucks were a free for all, the utter stupid pointless waste of time that quickbuilds were haunt me to this day, someone holding a plank of wood, someone else marking with a pencil, someone with the saw and someone else walking off with the cut plank, the ultimate in inefficiency. I vowed after seeing these scenes of farce never to return and I rightly didn't.

always remember a segment from CoC when Franz had a guest in at Crooklyn and was asking him about how much he thought the rags couple be produced for if they were outsourced to a commercial printery like the guy owned , he claimed about a couple of cents per copy and that would even leave a little bit of profit and that was a time when they rags were being charged for,! what was it 40 cents a copy? could all the printing be outsourced? well of course it could, just goes to show how antiquated and stuck in a time warp the WTS has always been and how much they haemorrhaged cash decade after decade and even with all the so called "free labour," laughable.

Joe134cd nailed it, they will be around for decades to come in some form or another with membership levels even lower probably, there is not going to be much growth from "born in" only at all, yet looking back at those boom years from Knorr on wards at the start of his reign who could ever have predicted how they've ebbed away to almost nothing in the grand scheme of things,8 day International Conventions in vast sports stadiums around the world,numerous hardbound printed releases every single year, a building boom, branch facilities springing up all over the world, KH quickbuilds, being regularly pestered or woken up with a knock on the door, my god they are unrecognisable, Brooklyn all but sold off, branches closed and sold off world wide, door knocking all but finished, nothing printed any longer, KH's being sold off, congregations disbanding and merging, and apathy carts that the general public pay no attention to, remember MEPPS and "tilt up concrete" construction methods? and more importantly their child abuse cover up scandal makes bigger news than their "doomsday end of the world" failed prediction, if someone had predicted this while I was a member of the R&F I would never have believed them.

I was baptised in 1987 (born in) married in 1990 and at the time I thought I was in for life, the cracks in the marriage surfaced within weeks though, but at the time felt reasonably happy in my life as a young brother in the cong , reaching out etc, god that pack of cards fell down quite quickly indeed, by early 1992 my meeting attendance was very sporadic , FS all but finished, prestudy, prayer etc all ground to a halt, by 1993 I was completely finished, history,by 1995 I was divorced,moved away and in the proceeding years DA'd all within 5 years.
