  The urban legends we heard as JWs!

  how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.

  here is an example i was told as a kid:.

  the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.

  the most ridiculous was the Japanese Yakuza gang leader who ordered a hit to kill his own daughter because she would not follow him into a life of crime, he repented and became an elder, yes of course he did, who would disbelieve that? its highly credible

  the thing is Cobweb, we can forget all about our appendix, tonsils,goosebumps,tailbone etc as they serve no use to us, "The generation that saw the events of 1914 and who would not pass away until the creators promises that will be fulfilled by the end of the 20th century" cant be forgotten, its embedded in their history ! even if they have stopped production of old publications and the only publications they make available online are only a few years old us merry band of activists have all of it stored in sheds,garages and personal libraries across they world, my god thats wonderful

  tricky I'd say, 99.9% of the R&F are board out of their brains at any convention so using that pretext as a conversation stopper could end up problematic

  Dozy, you are dead right, those UK purchases were nothing but vanity buys, like drunken sailors on shore leave, remember the initial plans for Chelmsford? huge printing presses and a bookbindery, a massive transport hub, a network of underground tunnels, was'nt it hyped to rival Selters? those huge expansion plans for the UK and Europe are nothing but distant memories, my god they are stupid, the egg on their faces now and those inital slick presentations beamed around the world, they must be covered in dust now.

  BBW, thats exactly how my JC was conducted , 5 of the idiots on the first committee all except the chairman who was a very decent man and family friend, I was found guilty of the trumped up charges in this ridiculous kangaroo court, as I left the the original JC meeting the chairman caught up with me as I was about to get into my car, he said he was sorry etc and I just said "yep Jeff thats the way it is I'll just accept my punishment and take it on the chin etc" he said no no no! you have to appeal you can beat this charge! I replied really? he said yes make out your appeal letter hand it to me and I'll arrange for the appeal, the appeal was made up of 3 decent guys two weeks later he was right, the decision to DF me for apostasy was reversed! I probably attended a mere handful of meetings after that and began my fade, I never looked back.

  Dr David Kelly and Danny Casolaro

  i’ve long been interested in the death of dr david kelly – i bought norman baker’s book and i recently bought a book by miles goslett on the topic.

  in his book, norman baker mentions danny casolaro.

  he was a freelance journalist who, like dr kelly, was also ‘suicided’.. i’ve just been watching part one of a two part documentary on casolaro’s ‘suicide’ … and am fascinated with the parallels to kelly’s death.. prior to their deaths, both men were involved in highly sensitive matters – kelly had come forward to a journalist to blow the whistle on the blair government’s sexed-up dossier; casolaro had been gathering information on underground activities involving the us government and the cia.. both men were found with their wrists slashed.. there were certain discrepancies in both cases.

  they are selling other property maybe up to 3000 units worldwide.. so, there is going something wrong.... there must be a giant money leak.

  I wonder how much they really lost in the GFC and subsequent gambling on hedge funds? although its a terrible record on their history I dont see child abuse lawsuit payouts any where close to what the possible losses have been as I mentioned

  sometimes wonder how my old cong is doing, not that I care much, I do know a convicted paedophile serves there and is in good standing.
