Rulehayl, if we had a pound for every time we heard that line trotted out " because they had an answers or won all the arguments" that sadly is a terrible reason for investing you time/money/energy and life into a dangerous high control group, but followers of these kinds of groups do have the answers it seems because the people joining them are not asking the right questions and are completely ignorant about their past and current doctrines and history which is so vital, you need to investigate them further and you will rightly find they dont have the answers thats why you have been pointed to jwfacts.com which is an excellent resource in counteracting their claims but we clearly know the people studying those books with you would have warned you to steer well clear of anything that isnt endorsed by them, dont you see a warning sign? finally its really sad you decided to be excluded from your works Xmas celebrations and your brothers birthday, they force martyrdom, isolation and love bomb all the while you are doing it but in the coming years when you maybe decide it isnt for you look at the response you'll get from them, you will be cut off, you wont even exist in their eyes, you only get one brother and you only get one time a year to enjoy some letting down your hair with your co-workers, this lot have been destroying these kind of events for over a 100 years and look where its got them.

Bringing reproach on Jehovah's name.
by ScottyRex ini have thought long and hard about this, you know in those midnight hours.. you will probably string me alive in what i say, but here you go-.
i feel that the jw's do have the truth.
i do agree with the doctrines and biblical exgenesis they propound.i do feel that they have the 'truth' i do understand they are imperfect, and i think they have had to 'refine' their teachings as time has gone on-and change accordingly- i see nothing wrong with this.

Pale.Emperor Meets The Mormons
by pale.emperor inwhen i was a jw i was fascinated with the mormon religion.
i never believed a word of it of course, but i was interested in their religion like most boys were interested in star wars.
i’ve read the book of mormon, doctrine & covenants, pearl of great price, book of abraham, watched their videos, read critical books by ex mormons etc etc… (strange at the time that i never did this with my own religion!

I was fascinated with them as well, and when I separated from my jw wife and moved a few miles away they would often cover the area where I lived on the D2D work, they called one time I invited them in and we had a good chat but I told them I wasn't interested they would be wasting their time with me, the problem is they kept calling over the next few months and I had to warn them in no uncertain terms to never call again, my mate another exjw who came out around the same time started a proper study with them in his home and asked me to sit in on one time, but because I was reading so much on cults and sects I was able to raise a lot of objections to the study, I did find though as with the jw's they do have a lot of proof texts from the bible to justify their doctrines but the lady actually got quite angry with me one time, my mate did not continue much longer.

What is the benifits to living forever?
by Jayk incan anyone give me a valid reason for it?
growing old is a drag.
the witnesses idea of ever lasting life, that you will come back to your most youthful state is such a bs answer..

the sad thing is about these kind of posts is that they have already made their minds up, she has already stated she wont be attending her brothers birthday party is echoing jw speak about the negativity of them, just think of the look on her brothers face if she turned up to his party and genuinely looked like she meant it, she's be a hundred times better than the kill joy, sanctimonious jw's she is mixing with, why be a martyr? enjoy your life, value the family unit, anything is better than what they offer.

A WTF Moment While In the WTS
by Searching inhas anyone else had a moment, while still within the organization (and before learning ttatt) that caused them to stop and go, "this is kind of messed up.".
for instance, back i believe in the early 2000's, i was attending a dc with my family.
it was announced at the beginning of the convention that there was going to be a special announcement at the end, so for everyone to please try to remain until the very end of the meeting.

during the WACO siege in early 1903 I really began to do some deep research into their doctrines, nothing stood up to scrutiny, 1914, other timeline predictions they'd made, Armageddon, the Resurrection, the time of the end, the slave being appointed as the mouthpiece etc,I just thought its all madness, a pointless waste of everyone's time and energy, this life saving message is in the hands of these strange people trudging around the town walking endlessly for hours doing nothing but gossiping, I had faded, I was done.

"not doing well spiritually"
by Introvert 2 inworking late tonight i just thought this up : whenever we used to hear someone say " so and so is not doing well spiritually™ " or "not doing well in the truth™ " what it really means is they aren't doing well climbing the wtbts's corporate ladder or doing their beck and call following the herd cult thingy.
been brought up before but had to share..feel free to add..

its a great label isnt it, I was tarnished with a label of " he may have been in the truth but was never part of it" in my JC, I used to like "running ahead of the organisation, or he is not showing humility" other words used to judge someone are "chided or rebuked"

Randy's work was brilliant when he set up Bethel Ministries later Freeminds , I was hooked reading each journal, my own testimony was printed! I know he's suffered health issues though.

dont worry your little self Rulhayl about Christmas parties, jeehovah really isnt interested , the organisation you are involved with were very happily celebrating them and birthday parties back in the day, and another thing you say you are a "bible student" studying the bible, that is not strictly true is it? you are studying a book, and I wouldn't mind betting the bible is very seldom used, let me give you a little tip, learn to read the bible without any additional material with it, read it on its own, also when you resume your bible study ask if you can have the study just using the bible and see what the jw's say, you may learn a few things. Those seven men you speak of have the blood of thousands on their hands, dont think for one second they are seven humble men upholding the rules of jeehovah, you couldn't be further from the truth, these so called rules that you mention have changed countless times over the decades, you seen the news items on child abuse that this organisation has been complicit in covering up? it really is endemic, you might want to look at The Australian Royal Commission enquiry, The Candice Conti court case, the recent BBC news, the BBC Panorama programme Suffer Little Children,(silentlambs.org) in the meantime jwfacts.com is an excellent recourse material that you should be looking at.
