its never made any sense, since the original sin and the ransom, how and why can a called loving god wallow in such a sickening voyeuristic position and watch such unspeakable suffering for 1000's of years disgusts and sickens me all because of a dick waving competition with his adversary, what an evil, perverted, bloodthirsty piece of work, not one single theist has ever satisfactorily explained to me the reason why.

The utter absurdity of the "universal sovereignty issue", chapter 4,786
by sir82 inso on the jw broadcast channel, there is a new 4 minute video entitled "why does god permit suffering".
i won't give them free advertising by linking to it, but you'll find it under the "latest videos" section.. it looks like it will be something that will eventually be used in field serve-us as a video to show householders.. anyway, it gives the illustration of the teacher and a "rebellious student" who says he has a "better way to solve the problem".
the infinitely wise teacher allows him to try, he fails, and the teacher is "vindicated".. other posts on this site demonstrate how inane the illustration really is - it breaks down nearly effortlessly.. anyway, the video goes on to explain that god allowed "rebellious humans" to continue on because (more or less direct quote) "millions of angels were observing.

How soon is soon?
by Sour Grapes ini guess if the jdubs have no clue how long a generation is they also wouldn't know how long a time period the word "soon" refers too.. 60 years ago my mother would hammer into my brain how soon the great tribulation was.
soon jehovah would destroy the wicked.
then a few years later there was no need to go to college because the end was so soon.

I had the same rhetoric at the cart in my town centre this week with the two ladies that work it, I've become quite good friends with them so all conversation is extremely light hearted, I told them and all the other doomsday groups have been saying the same thing for many many decades!

My take upon reading CoC for the 1st time
by nowwhat? inwow!
the gb.
1.0 demanded absolute loyalty back then too.

the original GB were clearly worse, there were too many of them and they had the evil Jaracz ruling all those years, although I dont see many changes with this new group

My last Memorial
by Sour Grapes ini missed my first memorial last year in 60 years.
it always amazed me on this special night that the jw's forget how to park their cars in the parking lot.
i would pull in with my wife and there are 5 brothers giving directions on where and how to park my car.

always a life turning event missing your first memorial, I remember it very clearly indeed, it was 1994, the superficial stupidity of it all.

by Emily1987 inas some of you may remember from a previous post of mine, myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
we began our fade in jan 2017 and haven't been to a meeting since may 2017. to say this time has been a struggle is an understatement.
it has been a lonely time for us, losing all of our so called friends.

sorry to hear of your struggles Emily, it certainly is how its made up to be, all I can say is try to remain strong and keep your head held high, life is never the same when leaving this evil.

Ex-jw Fifth interviews Bethelite from 1975. Well worth watching!
by Diogenesister inanother great interview by fifth here.
this lady was at bethel in 1975 and reminisces that many women at bethel expressed enormous regret at not having a family.
it seems that many witnesses back then were aware that watchtower really didn't know what they were talking about when it came to making predictions.. https://youtu.be/7dyooih3fji.
