if you partake of the wine and you are not "approved" status..... are you supposed to be cursed?

would you be "reproved"?

would they ignore you or call a jc?.

Tula: I have actually heard this before but didn't know how to confirm it.

What a shame/sham this would be and to think of all the times I just looked at the plate and wine go past thinking Jesus didn't want me to dine at the table with him.

Are you a morning person or a night owl and why?

i feel i'm a morning person because my thoughts are best in the morning.

i am sometimes awaken by inspiration.

i turn into a big lump before bed.

Just so happens i'm up late right now but even if I go to sleep now, my body won't let me lay in past 8am.

Upcoming Elders Schooling

it's no secret that the "organization" has increased it's cia, national security clerance only super-secret attitude in regards to the elder school that is going to be conducted soon.

a few days ago, i had a conversation with an elder who has been in the fold all of his life practically.

in keeping with the conversation style of jws, the gentleman told me that nobody knows what exactly will be taught at the meetings, but in his backdoor conversations with some brothers who seem to be tuned into the bethel's officially, unofficial, communications network, the elders are going to be taught "post-armageddon" teachings.

I recognize that the WTBS has changed. They have gotten some weird relationship with the UN now that may have given them some inside information on the world scene. So they may know something about whats coming upon mankind not because scripture says but because of stronger relationship politically and economically with the "international powers that be". Them knowing "something" may give an excuse to spin toward themselves which is what they have done with all the prophecies of the bible.

Remember 1914. Just because this was the year of WWI doesn't give the WTBS an excuse to dump everything into it and make it a pivotal year for their doctrine.

There was one sister I knew of that partook of the emblems. I didn't think much of it personally.

Others in the congregation had ugly things to say about her in private conversations like "She doesn't do things the way an anointed should." or " She has never even auxillary pioneered" or "Her comments don't sound like an anointed."

I don't know if it was jealousy or just ignorance or both.

I know it pissed me off though.

Then again I new of two other sisters that were very well respected that partook. All you heard were glowing remarks.

It's weird.

OMG! I guess I was a bit naive to the idea of your cell phone listening in on you. This does explain how easy it is to get them now a days. 10 years ago it would not have been as simple to just go to walmart, pop open a box, turn it on, and call your friend about what your getting for the big game this weekend.

What we may see as a little convenience may actually be a way for the powers-that-be to gain a little more control and presence in our so-called private lives.

How long has this site been around? (New Guy)

i always knew others had the same thoughts and ideas as i had ... but i never could have imagined that it was on this large of a scale.

Can I have an a la carte' baptism?

can i receive a proper baptism by one church in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit and then determine where i would like to go for fulfilling fellowship.

or do i have to get baptised each time i settle into a new location or go to a new church.

i would love to have something that will provide me a baptism and communion only deal with no strings attached.

tula: Different churches will look at there own particular checklists for who maybe acceptable. I try to keep my eye on what the bible shows me.

I am a fading JW and as a Jehovah's Witness you must study the proper study materials then have and interview with one or two elders. Then make an appointment at the next convention. Oh and by the way you may want to make a personal prayer to Jehovah about your decision. The JW's say they are in the "truth". I dare say they don't have enough of it.

Colosians 2: 8 Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ; --

If you want to fast, let it be YOUR decision. Anything else is pleasing men. If you want to take the test, let it be YOUR decision. But don't do it to prove it to any man. The test and fasting proves nothing to God. The only requirement is that you love God and want to please him.

tula: scriptural requirements for baptism? Well from your personal reading of the bible what do you understand? Do you think that God would hold you to a standard that you yourself may not understand? God reads each man's (or woman's) heart. I'm sure if you never get baptised God will read your heart. If you read the bible and see in there a desire to be a part of Christ's Body by Baptism and Communion then God will read your heart. No one has the perfect vision of what God wants and no one should put you in a box. Jesus yoke is so loving that most people can't see it for what it is.
