  Watchtower: Evangelical or protectionist?

  do you guys think the jdub's message is becoming more protectionist?

  so to speak, are they becoming more concerned over apostate encroachment and the things that go bump in the night than actually getting jehubber's word out?.

  if you guys listen to podcasts, aisha tyler has her own called girlonguy which she interviews different comedians and other artists.

  i was listening tonight when the guest started talking about his early history as a jehovah's witness to my surprise.. the show is not totally about it but there is a good chunk of it spoken of humorously.. check it out!.

  Quick letter to the ex for clarification...

  i read don cameron's book and got an idea on how to word a letter to the ex when certain expressions indicate she has no clue why i left the jws.... i would suggest "captives of a concept" to all who just want a simple way to explain to a witness why we don't go... although there are a ton of reasons..... here is snip of the letter.... you mentioned me getting reinstated the other day.

  i laughed because it was so funny to me.

  it also let me know that you really don't understand why i left the witnesses.

  Personality test based on how you listen to music

  i designed a 4 question personality test that looks at the simple ways you listen to music.. it can determine from those questions your 4 letter mbti code.

  from there i included some fun links that goes deeper into the personality traits.. i have yet to try this in a larger forum such as this but was wondering the results and if i can develope this.. .

  it may prove useful in my eventual psychology studies.. just follow the link.

  Pledge of Allegiance

  i remember at one point in my witness history going to an assembly and listening to the speaker request that the audience repeat some sort of agreement to be good or something.

  i can't remember exactly what it was but i found it disturbing to hear everyone just mindlessly agree.

  anyway i decided to rework the famous allegiance in the key of witness.. if you have your own rendition of such, please chime in!.

  Group control as a biproduct of creating an imaginary villain

  i have noticed, as many of us on this board have, that the watchtower's tone is getting harsher.. my friend and i have a love of the part of psychology that studies group think.

  we noticed something peculiar about how the watchtower seems to approach control of the members.. they seem to subliminally build a villain.

  a person that the group is not to be like.. what is happening is not an adjustment of the acceptable part of the group but a refining of the qualities of this villain.. what then naturally happens in the group is an aversion from whatever activities or persons that may be similar to the villain.. in other words, the accepted members' activities will be diametrically apposed to what ever this imaginary villain does.

  Could "this generation" simply be the generation of fleshly humans

  i was thinking about that and the crazy confusion of generational rangling being handed over by the gb.. maybe jesus simply refered to fleshly humans as a whole generation knowing he would be the first fruits of a "new generation" of spiritual creatures.. the gb have tried to rework the generational mess but it doesn't improve the outcome.. it would make more sense if we considered that the great crowd (new generation) were in heaven instead of on earth.. again just kicking things around!.
